For every child of God who wants to be walking in the wisdom of God, so as to be able to achieve set-out goals in life, you’ve got to make His written word your spiritual compass.
The world is getting more and more dangerous on a daily basis, and if you want to be doing exploits for His Kingdom, you’ll need His wisdom to guide you always.
The word of God is your unfailing guarantee for security and safety in this evil and dangerous world.
In order for you to be able to exploit the opportunities that are ahead of you, you’ll need to be practically applying God’s promises for your life at all times.
God’s word is His wisdom for every situation in your life. This means you’ll have to be applying the wisdom from His word to you, for every situation that you may be facing right now.
Our God is very practical in everything that He does. He will never ask you to do anything, that He knows you cannot handle.
There is nothing that God reveals for you to do, that is not practicable to achieve.
Unfortunately, not every believer in Christ Jesus lives practicably, in applying whatever the Lord has revealed to them to do, in order to prosper the Kingdom of God on the earth with it.
Many today are struggling in applying their knowledge of the word of God, for the purpose of reaping the harvest that is in front of them.
If every child of God has been practicing on a regular basis, whatever the Lord has directed them to be doing in His word, they’ll not be worrying about many other things that are pertaining to their lives.
The inability to practice whatever the word of God says, often stems from the inability to abide in Christ.
When you call yourself a Christian, but you do not follow the teachings of Christ; you are in fact ascribing to the fact that you are a hypocrite.
You may be fasting and praying about the issues of your lives, which could have been resolved by just practically living by the standards in God’s word.
But you’d rather choose to ignore it for the ungodly solutions that the world around you has to offer.
There are many Christians who will rather spend so much time and money on counseling sessions about their problems, which could easily had been resolved by just doing what God says in His written word.
In most cases they will often leave such counseling sessions with the satisfaction, that someone at least had the courage and the guts to sit down and listen to all their woes.
Whereas God sees and knows about all those problems before they decided to go for counselling. Their problem is that they would rather listen to the audible voice of a human being (a counsellor who’s struggling with his own problems), than to pay attention in doing what God’s word says.
But if they had been smarter enough to be living by God’s standard in His written word for them in the first instance, they would not have had any need for these senseless counseling at all.
God would have been directing their footsteps on a regular basis in making wise decisions to prosper them.
Neither would there have been the need for counseling by pastors, if only church members would take the initiative to practice, what they are being taught on a regular basis by their pastors to be doing from the pulpit.
In most cases church counseling would have been reduced to the barest minimum, without pastors having to get involved with their issues at all.
What’s it about God’s wisdom?

The problem is that many church goers will often abandon the teachings of their churches to embrace the wisdom of this world, rather than embracing the wisdom of God which the church often teaches them about.
Such people keep coming back to their pastors over and over again, with the same problems which never goes away.
Whereas all that’s needed to have been done is for them to begin acting on what God says in His written word.
They are actually fooling around with themselves, while thinking neither God nor anyone else sees them.
Let’s get this straight, God sees everything and knows everything that you’re doing with regards to His word. Nobody can ever outsmart God. He knows every step and every decision that you’re making about every issue of your life.
Godly wisdom is always available for those who will dare to take God for His word and act on it.
It is only those who will dare to practice what they had been taught, who will eventually reap the harvest from it.
It is absolutely impossible to combine the wisdom of God with the wisdom of this world.
Things do not work that way in the Kingdom of God. You are either on God’s side or on the side of the world. You cannot be in between the two.
It is therefore impossible to live based on the wisdom of this world, while at the same time living by the principles of the kingdom of God. All that this kind of attitude creates in your life is confusion and more problems.
Jesus said:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
Matthew 6:24 NIV
You do not need to be so heavenly minded concerning the word of God either, to the extent that you begin to see yourself as being unworthy for anything on the earth.
Being heavenly minded does not make you spiritual at all. Being a doer of God’s word is what does.
If you are truly being led by the Spirit of God into any new thing right now, you must understand and accept the fact that God is practicable. He wants you to be able to achieve those goals of your life easily.
But it’s your commitment to obeying God’s word that’s your first step into walking with Him to take possession of your “promised land”.
THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES WISDOM

Walking in the wisdom of God is therefore very important for you. The Holy Spirit is always there to help you in walking in it.
He’ll give you the understanding into the important things, that are vital to you in achieving the goals of your life.
But however, it is up to you to either take your clues from Him or just ignore Him entirely to our own detriment.
Every Christian has missed it with God in this regard one way or another. We had often failed in taking those clues from Him.
Wonderfully enough our God understands. That was why He sent His Son – Jesus Christ to help us wherever we had missed it in His way.
He knows those who will constantly rely on Him for success in life. He will never get angry at anyone of us for the mistakes of our lives, especially when we fail to follow His wisdom for a godly lifestyle.
God is always full of Compassion. He counts nothing against you in every mistake of our life to follow Him.
That is why if you had ever failed to walk in wisdom with Him, you could always go back to Him in repentance, and He will fix it for you.
THE GIFT OF THE WORD OF WISDOM

There are basically two kinds of wisdom from the Holy Spirit, that the scriptures reveal to us, and it is interesting to note here that, they both comes to us through our ability to build a relationship with Him.
The first one comes as one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is called – “the word of wisdom”.
It is important to note that the Bible calls it “the word of wisdom”, and not “wisdom” in itself (1 Corinthians 12:7-8).
This is a gift that is manifested by speaking words which the Holy Spirit deposits into your heart. It has nothing at all to do with what is in your head or in your thought patterns.
The gift of the word of wisdom is a very powerful weapon in our spiritual warfare against the enemy, but it does us no better than that; if we cannot and do not use it to fight the good fight of faith against the devil.
The gift of the word of wisdom is given to us as a weapon in our spiritual warfare by the Holy Spirit.
And just like anyone giving us a gift, we may reject or ignore the gift. That does not mean it is not available for us to receive and use.
And many had failed in their refusal to embrace the gift of the word of wisdom in their lives.
There are some who will fail to embrace it, because to them obeying it may seem to them as acting stupid or foolishly before the world.
In other words, they care about what the world thinks than what the Lord is instructing them about.
But actually, the gift of the word of wisdom has always been applied by many, in leading them to do extraordinary things in the Kingdom of God.
THE WISDOM OF GOD

The gift of the word of wisdom is completely different from the wisdom of God, which is not a gift, but is Holy Spirit inspired based on the comprehension or understanding of the Scriptures.
In reference to the wisdom of God, the Holy Spirit brings out of the abundance of the word of God in our lives and uses it, at our moment of need in helping us to resolve real life problems.
Jesus said:
“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you”.
John 14:25-26 NKJV
The Wisdom of God is the application of the holy scriptures to real life problems, as the Holy Spirit teaches and brings them out to our remembrance in resolving them.
The more we get into the scriptures by studying it, the more our spiritual reservoir becomes wealthier for the Holy Spirit to pick out from it in helping us.
Jesus said again:
“Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.”
Mark 13:11 NIV
The Holy Spirit can only draw out of the abundance of resources that we had deposited into our hearts in helping us.
That is why it is important to read, study and meditate daily on the holy scriptures.
Paul told the Church at Corinth:
“We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
1 Corinthians 2:6-8 NIV
As Paul pointed out here, the word of wisdom is meant for our glory.
If the Apostle Paul had never trained himself by studying the scriptures, he would never have been able to discover so many mysteries of God from the scriptures, that are available to us today.
What is meant for our glory through our application of the wisdom of God working through our lives, becomes manifested as we act on the word of God in overcoming whatever the enemy throws out against us.
If God’s word is in your life, then you do have the wisdom of God within you. You just need to be drawing out from it by speaking it out of your mouth in overcoming, whatever comes across your way from the enemy.
You will reap much more spiritual harvest by feeding your spirit man on a regular basis with God’s word, rather than what comes from the television.
There are a lot of ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ today who really need to cut back drastically from watching the television. They need to the studying and reading the Bible more, instead of spending their time on social media.
God will use them if they are spending more time with Him in the scriptures. The wisdom of God will start flowing through their lives to increase and expand God’s Kingdom on the earth.
RECEIVING THE WISDOM OF GOD

The wisdom of God is what the scriptures refers to when it says:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
James 1:5-8 NIV
The principle of asking and receiving wisdom is very simple and very practicable.
God will give wisdom to anyone who asks for it. And He is generous towards us in giving us wisdom without even finding fault in anyone of us.
No matter what your current situation right now may be, God finds no fault or mistake in you, which can ever deny you access to His wisdom.
God will never look down on anyone for making the most foolish mistakes in life. He never finds fault in those who are asking and seeking for His wisdom. He sees you as being washed and cleansed in the blood of His Son, if you had received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
The scripture says above about God’s wisdom to anyone who asks for it, that “it will be given to you.”
Is it not amazing that He does not even say that one has to be a Christian, in order to ask and receive wisdom?
I had encountered many unbelievers, who often act with godly wisdom. Yet they do not know anything about what they are doing, except that they do acknowledge that it was the right thing for them to do.
But at the same time, I had seen those who are born of God, doing the most stupid thing that would have been associated with the unsaved. They do know better, because they do have the opportunity of knowing exactly what the scriptures teaches about such things.
One thing that we can get from the scriptures in the epistle of James (above), is that an unbeliever who does receives God’s wisdom, will be led into being saved from the coming destruction of this evil world, by putting His faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
If you cannot admit before God that you do need His wisdom, you will not have it, because the wisdom of God is given only to those who asks God for it.
This is actually the problem with many people. They often hold on to the wisdom of the world around them, while struggling to acknowledge before God, that they do need His wisdom.
They are trusting in their own abilities to manage their problems, instead of trusting in the promises of God.
This type of attitude often creates much more problems for them; on top of the issues that they do have on hand. This is how such Christians often get frustrated, and life begins to become stressful for them.
There are many Christian professionals in the world today as an example, who are struggling in applying their Christian beliefs to their professional skills, so as to benefit the world and the people with whom they are working with on a regular basis.
There are those who may be able to recognize their own lack of wisdom; but it never had even occurred to them that they can ask God for His wisdom.
That is the moment many do begin to spend so much time and money on the things that they don’t need. Whereas all that they needed to have done was to have simply asked God for His wisdom and receive it by faith.
It takes our acting in faith to receive wisdom, and to release such wisdom into action.
The wisdom of God is meant for you. And you need to be using it to benefit your life here on the earth.
There are many Holy Spirit filled believers who often do ignore the wisdom of God, while embracing the wisdom of this evil world.
But no matter how often you might have been ignoring the wisdom of God in your life, be rest assured today that God finds no faults in you at all. He sees it as part of your pathway into discovering more about Him.
So do not be discouraged. Just ask God for wisdom today and be rest assured that He will give it to you. He will guide you through the darkness until His light begins to shine upon your pathway.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE

I do know of certain preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, who had made the same mistake before.
They are human beings just like everyone else. They live in this world like everyone does and are prone to making the very same mistakes that everyone makes daily.
The only difference is that they have learnt to always ask God to help them and give them wisdom whenever they need it. The Lord God helped them by giving them His wisdom.
And you can do the same thing also. But you must be ready and prepared to follow through in doing whatever the Lord may be guiding you to do after asking Him by faith.
So, if you will ask God today for wisdom, then your pathway in life will start getting brighter and brighter, as you begin to apply His wisdom to your everyday life.
Remember what Jesus said:
“And in that day, you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full”.
John 16:23-24 NKJV
Wisdom is waiting on you for action. Walk in it by doing it. Walking in it is what gives you the joy of being a child of God.
