King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon after a personal encounter with the God of Heaven and Earth said:
“I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”
Daniel 4:34-35 NKJV
King David also in his own words said that:
“Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.”
Psalms 147:5 NKJV
And in another place David had said to the Lord God:
“Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You are mindful of him? Man is like a breath; His days are like a passing shadow.”
Psalms 144:3-4 NKJV
Indeed, God Almighty rules and reigns over all the earth. His Kingdom and dominion spans from one generation to another, over all the inhabitants of the earth. His supremacy in power over the heavens and the earth is unquestionable. It’s only a fool who will ever say that there is no God.
King Nebuchadnezzar had been so proud of his personal achievements as the King of Babylon. He had been exalted above all the other kings on the earth. In the pride of his heart, he was about to make himself a human god to all the peoples under his jurisdiction. He wanted all the people of the world to worship him.
But he never knew that the Lord God, whose Throne is in the heavens was watching him. God judges all men not on the basis of their actions, but on the basis of the intent of their hearts. He weighs the intent of the heart of man in proportion to his acts of wickedness, before judging him. He is the just God of the earth, and His judgment is always right (1 Samuel 16:7).
It’s with the heart that we believe before carrying out our actions of faith. It’s also with the heart that the wicked believes in their evil ways before carrying out their acts of wickedness. In both cases God judges the intents of the hearts behind the actions of men in response to our actions of faith and the punishment of the wicked.
That was why the judgement of God came instantly upon Nebuchadnezzar. He had allowed the pride of the success of his reign to overshadow his ability to acknowledge, that God was the One who made him King over the nations under him. He had acted like a fool by not giving the glory to God.
And as a result of his foolishness, he was driven away from his throne by God. He was made to lose his mind, so that he started living like an animal for seven years. It was after the seven years of living like an animal was over, that his sanity returned back to him.
Thereafter he had made the above proclamation about God being supreme in the affairs of all men and the nations. He finally realized that his success in life was not possible without God.
Over the affairs of our lives God is supreme. We are all His creations, and we have been created for His purpose on the earth. No man can ever try to change the purpose of God for his own life and prosper while doing so.
There are many things that we go through in life that had been preordained by God Almighty. God had predesigned our lives as His creations, to fit into His Own eternal purpose on the earth. No one can change His eternal purpose, as they are already in His written word for us.
That’s why it’s important to always keep His written word in between our eyes and our hearts. God’s word will always guide our steps to fall in line with His eternal purpose. This is how a righteous man guides his way and actions with his faith on the earth to please God.
And it’s important for everyone of God’s children to learn how to flow in those eternal purposes of God. Otherwise, we will always have problems getting into the perfect will of God, with the ability to be able to stand strong in it.
There are a lot of Christians who are not judging themselves on the basis of His written word today. They are suffering because they are not seeing themselves in the mirror of God’s word. And if a Christian is not judging himself, he will be eventually judged by the Lord God. And God’s judgment is not like the judgment of men. He judges in righteousness, and no one can question His judgment, because He is number One in the heavens and on the earth.
While you’re asking Him to intervene on the earth
In the same way as God is supreme in all the affairs of our lives, He is also supreme in every aspect of our prayer lives.
We say our prayers to Him, because we do know that He hears us. But there are certain things that do belong to Him alone in answer to our prayers for others. The Lord God does not want us to touch those things at all in our prayer life, because they are meant for His purpose alone.
And He will always let us know when certain things are irreversible in prayer. He will reveal His will to us in prayer. There is no point in praying for something that we do know can never be turned around by God. That’s an example of a stupid and meaningless prayer.
In every aspect of spiritual warfare, it’s always important to acknowledge God’s supremacy and sovereignty in the affairs of all men. He expects us not to dare to even touch certain things at all, in our prayers and intercession before Him.
He will never respond to the stupidity of certain people before Him in prayer. He will not answer certain requests in our prayers before Him, because He knows that they are coming out of the foolishness and the stupidity of men.
It’s our responsibility to be searching out His will before going to Him in prayer. And there are a lot of people who don’t do that. So, they are often getting frustrated, as they give up easily in prayer.
They are often assuming that just because someone from the pulpit says something, that aligns with the desire of their flesh; then it is automatically the will of God for their lives. Whereas there are certain things in the will of God that are perfect, acceptable and permissive to us (Romans 12:2).
Just because something is acceptable before God for someone, doesn’t mean that it’s acceptable for you before Him. You’re both children of God, but that thing may only be permissive for you alone, while it is not necessarily His very best for others.
That doesn’t however negate the fact that He loves us all equally. But in the abundance of His love for each one of us, He has designed our individual prosperity on the earth to be in His will for our lives. You can only prosper in God’s will for your life.
The Lord God wants us to be in His perfect will always. It’s only in certain circumstances which are beyond us, that Christians often settle for His acceptable or permissive will.
Therefore, if you’re in the permissive will of God, why not seek to be in His perfect will for your life. And the only way you can discover His perfect will for your life is through prayer and His written word.
There are Christians who will never take the time out to search the scriptures, about the best things from God for their personal lives by themselves. They are flocking around with other Christians without really understanding what God has in store for them.
There are certain things that we can generalize about concerning every child of God. Examples are healing, good health, prosperity, deliverance from the works of the devil and several other things. These are all in His perfect will for all His children. But there are some specific things that belongs to God alone, in determining whether your faith level qualifies you for them.
Praying in the Holy Ghost helps us in knowing the mind of the Father for our lives. For example, the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are meant for every child of God. But it’s not every child of God that can function in all of them.
The gifts of the Spirit are given to us in accordance with the will of God for our lives. God will not give you something that He knows you’re not spiritually matured enough to handle.
Paul said about the gifts of the Spirit that:
“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
I Corinthians 12:11 NKJV
The Spirit of the Lord is the Distributor of His spiritual gifts. He alone determines the perfect gift for each member of the Body of Christ.
Faith comes by hearing and learning about the truth that makes us free through the written word of God. Our faith grows and gets stronger when we are searching out the truth from the scriptures by ourselves and by exercising it.
Those who are not doing these two things are spiritually lazy. There is no excuse for a self-professed Christian not to be searching the scriptures daily and exercising his faith.
Those who are spiritually lazy will often respond to God’s silence in answering their prayers, by taking situations into their own hands. They will claim to be acting by faith, whereas their faith has no scriptural revelation basis for their actions.
And it’s not the devil who is standing in their way to get answers to their prayers. It’s their own flesh that is hindering them from walking in obedience to God’s word. The foolishness of men and the pleasures of this world will always give way to the flesh in them.
Our Father in Heaven is the God of all spirits. He is supreme and sovereign. To make it clearer and plain – He is number One in the heavens and on the earth. No one can question Him about whatever He has determined to do. His word is always final. He knows more than what we do think that we do know. In fact, we don’t even know anything about what He knows.
It’s therefore better for us not to even give room to those things in our thought lives and prayers at all, which He doesn’t want us to touch or entertain in our minds. By doing otherwise we will be doing a lot of spiritual harm to ourselves.
The devil will attempt to bring such things up in our minds; because he knows that it will disqualify us from being in God’s perfect will. And as Christians we alone do have the duty and responsibility, never to give the devil that opportunity at all in our minds.
There had been instances when I personally will be praying for people in the spirit; and the Lord will stop me from praying about certain things concerning them. At other times He had made it clear to me, that there are times and seasons for certain things in the lives of these people.
God loves them, and He wants the very best for them. He however is seeking to position them for those very best things in their lives. This is where a lot of Christians are struggling to stand strong in their prayer lives.
They just need to learn how to be steadfast in prayer, even when nothing is actually happening. God is supreme and He will eventually come out strong on their behalf (Matthew 7:7-8).
I have learned by experience never to bring up anything that God does not want me to touch again in prayer, because I do know that at the appropriate time and season, He will remind me of them.
He had often later on led me to pray by the Spirit about such things, by releasing His word to work in the lives of His people. And as I respond by praying in declaring His word to me, I have always been amazed by the ways He had answered those prayers, at the time that He had purposed to grant those prayer requests.
What we don’t know about certain things right now will become clearer when we appear before Him in glory. And there are a lot of things that we will never get the answers to, until we see Him face to face. We will have all of eternity to know what we don’t know now about certain things on the earth.
In certain instances when we are praying for people, the Lord has His own plan to heal and deliver them. And His plan will not necessarily match up with what we are assuming (Isaiah 55:8-9).
He however does expect some people to activate their faith in His promises, so as to get themselves out of the ensnarement of the devil. And at other times He will allow the fire of His Spirit to test their faith, so that their faith can come out of the fire as being purer than gold (1 Peter 1:7).
So, it’s not everything that we can get direct answers to when we are praying. God will always let us know what we are not to touch at all before Him, in our prayers for other Christians.
He’s however swift in opposition to the wicked.
But it’s a different thing when we are praying against the activities of the witches, wizards and sorcerers in the course of our proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Witches, wizards and sorcerers will always seek to manipulate their targets first of all, into doing something that is against the will of God. They will attempt to intimidate you, if you’re resisting their attempt to manipulate you. And as soon as any of these two attempts or both are successful, they will begin to dominate the lives of their captives.
These workers of the darkness of this world are always seeking for more power, at the place where they can easily be exposed and destroyed. This is a great weakness in them.
They can see the light shining in the midst of God’s people, whenever we are gathered together to worship our God and seek His face in prayer. But they are mistaking the light of God for the power, that they do need to continue their wickedness on the earth.
It’s interesting that with everything that the devil claims to have, he doesn’t have enough to satisfy the lust and the craving of his cohorts. These workers of darkness do know that there is a power source that is greater than what the devil has given them.
This was what was seen in Simon the sorcerer, who had offered money to the Apostles, so as to receive the Holy Ghost in the city of Samaria:
“Saying, “Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 8:19 NKJV
He had come to get the power of God for the purpose of doing evil. And that’s why these workers of darkness are always invading the gatherings of the believers in Christ Jesus. They are seeking for more power to do evil. And the mere fact that they are seeking it among the people of God suggests, that they do know Who is greater than the devil (their master).
In the above example, the judgment of Peter on the wickedness of this man (Simon) was swift. He was first offered the opportunity to repent. And if he had refused to repent, he would have faced instant judgment:
“But Peter said to him, “Your money perishes with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”
Acts 8:20-23 NKJV
Simon the sorcerer had come to receive more power so as to continue his wicked works in the city of Samaria. This practice of sorcerers, witches and wizards is still common today wherever there are miracles, signs and wonders following the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
This is even more serious as they are the ones, who are always standing in the way of the expansion of the Kingdom of God on the earth. They are opposing the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ; yet they are seeking the power of God in order to be using it to deceive people.
The major problem with them is that they are always seeking for more power on the earth, instead of seeking to get intimate in the knowledge of the Almighty God. The wickedness in them is preventing them from seeing their need for salvation.
The same desire that was in the devil when he was thrown out of the heavens, is what is on the inside of every one of them and their evil craving for more power.
They are not seeking to know God; but they are seeking His power. This type of delusional search for the truth about God in these agents of Satan, is what the devil is using also to target Christians who are seeking for the power of God, instead of seeking to know more about God.
The Apostle Paul expressed what is supposed to be the desire of the heart in every child of God, when he said:
“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,”
Philippians 3:10 NKJV
It’s impossible for God to release His power to those who are not intimate with Him. There has to be the desire to know more about God, and His way of doing things in His Kingdom and in the life of a Christian. A Christian has to be doing something positive and active with that desire to know more about God, for that intimacy with God to become a reality.
You’ll need to have something at hand that you are using by faith, which God can work with to prosper you. If you don’t have anything that you are committed in doing for God, that’s probably your problem. Get yourself into a Church and start doing something for God.
This is your pathway into getting to know Him more apart from knowing His word. No matter what it may be that you are doing in the local Church; God is seeing through your heart of devotion to it. He will bless a devoted heart to Him and to the work of His Kingdom.
This type of Christian longing and desire is not in any of the workers of wickedness on the earth. They cannot have the desire in them to know more about God, because their master (Satan) will never allow them to seek to know more about God. He is afraid of losing them. That’s why God had said in the scriptures, that they must never be allowed to live (Exodus 22:18 and Micah 5:12).
The root of rebellion is inside every one of them. There is no desire to seek after the God of the Heaven and the Earth in them.
That’s why certain people are seeking after these workers of wickedness also, because they’re seeking for an escape path away from seeking after God. They are seeking to escape from their own personal problems, by seeking after any power that will promise to alleviate, if not eliminate their problems for them.
They are seeking for an escape route out of their insecurities on the earth, which only the Almighty God can give to them. Whatever the devil gives are always temporary. And this will always make their situations worse for them, after experiencing a temporary alleviation from the works of the devil.
And it’s because of this evil desire in people that there is so much chaos in our world today. Satan is using this quest for power in people to destroy them. That’s why as Christians, we don’t get ourselves involved with such things.
There are grave consequences for those Christians who do know that they shouldn’t be getting involved with such unrighteous quests for power. Whenever any Christian does this, such a Christian is rebelling against God and will ultimately face the judgment of God.
Whenever people are seeking after power, instead of seeking after God through His written word; they are in actual fact seeking after Satan. Christians are not created in the image of Christ Jesus for the purpose of seeking after the unknown. A Christian seeks after God by searching through His written word – the Bible. God’s written word reveals God to us.
That was what Paul told the Athenians in the heart of modern-day Europe. He had sought to convince them about the vanity that’s in doing such a thing. He said to them:
“For as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:”
Acts 17:23 NKJV
The Athenians were seeking after the unknown god as many are seeking the wrong kind of power in our world today.
The Athenians were worshiping all kinds of gods and imagining all kinds of evil and demonic works in their minds. They were involved in doing nothing apart from seeking for the latest form of power or evil, as is common in modern day Europe today. And that’s why most of the churches today across Europe are weak.
The scripture says:
“For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.”
Acts 17:21 NKJV
Many in our world today are doing the very same thing that they were doing in Athens before Paul got there. The world is getting more and more delusional, because of this satanic quest that is spreading across the world today.
The Athenians just like the others within the Roman Empire at the time were seeking for anything else, apart from the knowledge of God through faith in Christ Jesus. It’s as a result of this unrighteous quest in them that Paul said to them:
“Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore, God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”
Romans 1:21-25 NKJV
Their foolish desires have brought darkness upon them. It has also given birth to a depraved mind in some of them, to the extent that they are consuming one another in their own physical bodies. They were dishonoring their physical bodies, instead of yielding the body as God has created it to be honored, by giving it as a sacrifice to Him (Romans 12:2).
The desire within them for more power instead of a personal relationship with the living God, has opened the doors of hell for them. This work of evil and wickedness has become very rampant within the Roman Empire of today, as it was during the time of the Apostle Paul also.
They are devoted to worshipping themselves, instead of worshipping the living God. Nothing is new today that they were not doing at the time when Paul wrote his letter to them. It has always been a snare that their witches, wizards and sorcerers are using to ensnare the manifestation of the power of God among them.
In another word, the devil has nothing new to showcase within the Roman Empire of today. It was what they were doing at the time when the early Church stood firmly in opposition against them; that they are also doing today. And it is the same attitude and stance of the early Church at that time, which will eventually save the Churches within the Roman Empire of today also from losing her fire for God.
Consequently, God has allowed them to continue in the foolishness of their hearts. That’s why in the words of the Apostle Paul:
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”
Romans 1:28-32 NKJV
They can’t retain the knowledge of Christ within themselves, because they are not actually born of the Spirit of God, but of the devil. This is the form of wickedness in our world today, that the judgement of God is coming upon suddenly.
And how swiftly will His judgment come? How suddenly will it come upon their depraved minds?
The Church needs to be ready to take action, and rescue those who will be escaping the judgment of God from among them. They will need to be restored and discipled to walk in accordance with the purpose of God for their lives.
Are you prepared for what the Lord God is about to do on the earth? It’s going to be sudden. Get yourself ready.
There is a lot more to do for the Lord ahead of you. Yes, God will judge the wicked, and His judgement will come suddenly. Wait for it by continuing to stand before Him in prayer for the nations.
