James, the Apostle said concerning seeking for wisdom from God that:

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind”.

James 1:5-6 NKJV

The Passion Translation puts it in this way:

“And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and He will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures, but He will overwhelm your failures with His generous grace. Just make sure you ask empowered by confident faith without doubting that you will receive. For the ambivalent person believes one minute and doubts the next. Being undecided makes you become like the rough seas driven and tossed by the wind. You’re up one minute and tossed down the next”.

James 1:5-6 TPT

The wisdom of God is always available to those who will ask for it.

According to the scripture text above, it is available to “all liberally” who will ask.

God is very liberal when it comes to giving everyone on the earth His wisdom to live a prosperous life on the earth. He does not scold anyone for their failures in life. He knows that we are all human beings with weaknesses.

God will never and can never withhold His wisdom from all His creations, who had been created in His image and for His own pleasure.

His wisdom created the heaven and the earth, and His wisdom is still holding them all together till this very moment.

This explains why praying for wisdom is vital in everything that we do here on the earth.

If it was in wisdom that God created all things, then there is nothing that we can ever do in accomplishing anything meaningful in life without His wisdom.

Get the wisdom to win souls!

Jesus was once having a conversation with a Samaritan woman, with whom He was not even supposed to be conversing with according to the Jewish tradition.

But Jesus is never bond by the traditions of men. He sees beyond all of that, so as to be able to manifest the will of the Father on the earth.

During their conversation together, the gift of the word of wisdom was in application by Jesus, as He revealed everything in the life of this woman to her:

“Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

‭‭John‬ ‭4:16-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This woman was alarmed. She had never met a total stranger, narrating the story of her life to her before. It never took long before she became an evangelist to her village.

Great things happens when we are freely opened up to all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the wisdom of God to work through our lives.

With the gift of the word of wisdom manifesting in the ministry of Jesus, not only was this Samaritan woman saved, but the whole village received the gospel of salvation, as Jesus testified about Himself to them.

We can do what Jesus did in this Samaritan village on the earth today also.

The wisdom of God knows every community, tribes, tongues and nations of the world. No matter how difficult or complicated the world may look like to you, God’s wisdom founded it and, in His wisdom, alone it will be saved.

The harvest may be plenty and the laborers few; but walking in the wisdom of God makes us smarter and much more effective in saving the lost people of the world.

In the wisdom of God, we will prepare the way for our Savior’s return – Maranatha.

Word of wisdom and the wisdom of God.

The difference between the gift of the word of wisdom and the wisdom of God in itself, is like one person using a recipe to cook a meal and another person cooking it by practicing based on personal experience:

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going”.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV

The application of wisdom in our daily lives as believers is vital to our success in life.

The Holy Spirit may give us the recipe (the word of wisdom), or we may have to learn the application of the word of God itself with His wisdom.

Whenever the Holy Spirit gives us the word of wisdom, He does always lead us into a deeper understanding of the purpose of God through prayer and intercession.

But it’s the Holy Spirit who brings to us the wisdom of God. And it works better through us, as we act by faith on the word of God.

This is the wisdom that comes through the working knowledge of the word of God in our lives.

The working knowledge of the word of God impacts lives permanently, to make us better and much more productive Christians on the earth.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we need both the word of wisdom and the gift of the word of wisdom, so as to be able to walk in victory over the enemy always.

They both are like a double edge sword, with which we are able to penetrate the darkness of this world.

You must always be zealous for them both and use them, if you want to be effective in your Christian witness to the world around you.

With the renewal of mind comes wisdom.

Have you ever tried to ask God for wisdom in your everyday decision-making processes?

Or will you rather base those decisions, on the everyday feeling from the heavily opinionated world around you?

We live in a world that is dynamic and fast paced. Sixty percent of our everyday thoughts are not really factual or truthful. And most of those thoughts never actually comes into fruition.

That means we need to be renewing the mind with the promises of God, for every situation that we are confronting daily, so as to be able to walk in God’s wisdom at all times.

This implies also that the enemy is constantly trying to penetrate and manipulate your daily thought patterns, to suit his own designs and strategies against you.

The Devil has lots of projects that he is daily carrying out against you as a child of God.

You can never defeat him without the word of God and the Holy Spirit, working in the wisdom of God through your activated faith to manifest the victory.

If therefore you are not seeking God daily for His insights and His wisdom into the issues that you are confronting, you are probably not making wise decisions in life.

This is why the prosperity of the Lord keeps on eluding a lot of Christians today.

You will need to be approaching your daily Bible reading with an open mind.

The wisdom of God for each day to you may be tied up inside one word or phrase that is in front of you through the holy scriptures.

So do not miss out of the wisdom of God. Stop reading the Bible with the mentality that it’s an old religious book. It is not!

It is actually the word of God to you right now. It has God’s life and breath in it:

“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Stop taking your daily Bible reading lightly from now on. God is speaking to you and wants to speak with you directly during that moment.

He alone knows and understands everything that is going on in your lives better than you do.

He alone can fix those complications of life which keeps bothering you.

And without Him, His word and His wisdom being on your side, there is no way you will ever be able to make it.

Wisdom is waiting for you.

King Solomon once declared:

“Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The wisdom of God is always available to everyone in the midst of all those decision-making processes of life.

This is “the highest point along the way, where the paths meet”; which Solomon is describing in this scripture text.

This is a direct reference to the climax of the issues of life, when you do know without any doubt, that only the wisdom of God will see you through.

It is the moment when you will often have to take a definitive decision which affects your life, that God’s wisdom will come to you.

This is the moment that the wisdom of God comes out to take a stand with you, by overruling your selfish desires in the midst of those difficulties.

It is in that moment when God will whisper into your heart, as He directs you to follow His pathway of righteousness.

In the midst of the storms of life, at the moment when you get into the deepest part of the valley in your life.

At the very darkest moments of your life, when you know that you have nowhere else to turn to again, the wisdom of God is always ready and available for you.

But the problem with many at this moment, is that they will often rush into making decisions, based on their preconceived thoughts about the situation. And in certain cases, based on all the things that the enemy is pulling off into their lives and around them.

And by the time the storm is finally over, their spiritual eye of understanding becomes open to the truth, that indeed they had rushed into making a rash and negative decision.

Another good thing about the wisdom of God after we’d missed it, is that God’s wisdom will always lead us into correcting the mistakes that we had made.

Unfortunately, not many people are wise enough to follow wisdom at this moment.

The pride of life is often blocking their pathway into the blessings of God at such moments.

The wisdom of King David.

David experienced this crisis management climax moment, while on the run from King Saul (see 1 Samuel 30).

He had allied himself with the Philistines, with the believe that they would shelter him from Saul.

But one day, war broke out between Saul and the lords or rulers of the Philistines.

David had to show that he had his allegiance to them, rather than to his former master (Saul). He had left his wives, children and properties behind at Ziklag, and decided to join in battle with the Philistines.

But the Philistines were afraid of him, and thought that he would betray them in battle, and get reconciled back with the man who was after his life. So, he was asked to go back to Ziklag.

On getting back to Ziklag David and his men found out that they had lost everything that they had ever worked for in life.

And the men who were with David started blaming him for making a bad decision.

In fact, they were thinking of killing him. The Bible says:

“Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God.”

‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭30:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

While the men were all blaming David and were planning to stone him to death; David realized that he had been caught in between the rocks in a hard place.

So instead of passing the blame on the Philistines, David choose to encourage himself in the Lord.

As he did the wisdom of God came to him in consulting with God, rather than with the men around him.

It was then that the word of God came to him, to go after those who had raided his town. The Lord told him that he would recover everything back.

We need to learn from David here. He strengthened himself in the promises of God to him in the midst of the crisis.

He never sat down with the crying and weeping crowd around him, so as to discuss the next plan of action.

There was no point in talking with a bunch of fault-finding men. David realized that he needed God to be on his side.

Wisdom spoke to him to seek the face of God at that very moment so as to strengthen himself.

The crowd that surrounded him was of no use at that moment of crisis. He needed God to help him manage the situation. And the wisdom of God led him to fight back at the enemy.

Do not be a whiner in your moment of crisis. Be a fighter together with God being on your side. Seek Him at that moment of crisis in life; and not what friends, colleagues or the world seems to be suggesting for you.

Remember that every situation is never the same; and God’s solution to every problem in life is never the same also.

He created all of us differently, and only Him knows the best for our lives. You need His wisdom to bring your change into manifestation.

David finally pursued the Amalekites, and he did recover more than all that he had lost, back in that single battle.

When you are making the decision to pursue after the wisdom of God in every complication of life, God will always help you and deliver you.

Till next week remember that:

“When wisdom speaks, understanding becomes attractive. But the words of the fool make their ignorance look laughable”.

Proverbs‬ ‭15:2‬ ‭TPT‬‬
