The three wise men from the east (Matthew 2:1-12) traveled from a location between today’s Iraq and Iran, to pay homage to the King of the Jews in Bethlehem of Judea. They were not Jews; but they became the first worshippers of Jesus from the gentile world.
With their visit they not only became the first worshippers of Jesus. Their visit actually made them also, the first partners with the vision of God to save the world.
In partnering with God’s vision, they never came to the Baby Jesus empty handed. They came with the best things from their world to worship Jesus.
They came not just to worship
But we need to be careful with their cynical homage to worship Jesus. These wise men were not working for Herod. They were on the payroll of a foreign government (the Parthian Empire) at the time. Their visit was not without a secret underlying agenda.
Firstly, as astrologers they were able to use their skills at the time, to communicate with their pagan gods; so as to counsel, guide and advice the government of the Persian (Parthian) Empire.
Secondly, they were not believers in Judaism, but they knew through history about the prophecies concerning the coming Jewish Messiah. Evidently all that they knew about the birth of Christ, was revealed to them in alliance with the demonic forces from their idols. The angels of God never gave them the information that they acted upon when they visited Bethlehem (Matthew 2:1-2).
It is important to note here that their visit took place some months, after the angels from heaven had proclaimed the birth of Christ, to the shepherds on the field of Judea (Luke 2:13-20).
For you today as a child of God, this is proof that Satan and his agents do not know anything, about the plans of God for your life, until those plans are proclaimed through words of prophecy. There are demonic spirits waiting to eave drop on whatever God has whispered into your heart. This is why you need to be careful about publicly proclaiming, certain things that God whispers into your heart. There are forces of evil waiting to hear you declare what God told you.
That’s why your ability to pray in tongues is important concerning such things. Satan will know nothing about it, until your heavenly Father fulfills what He has promised you.
Note that the moment a word of prophecy is spoken over your life, Satan has all the information needed to start fighting that word of prophecy from coming to pass. Your spiritual battle begins from that moment onwards, against the forces which Satan has assigned against your vision. There was a fierce spiritual war in the heavens before Christ was born. Great things are never given birth to without spiritual battles.
If there was war in the heavens before Christ was born; there will be war in the heavens over the great things, that are coming your way in the new year. So get ready to fight the good fight of your faith – praying and interceding in the spirit always against the wiles of the Devil.
So:
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Ephesians 6:11 NKJV
The war in the heavens is real
Paul revealed the inner workings of the kingdom of Satan to us, when he wrote to the Ephesians:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
This statement of Paul reveals to us the organizational structure of the kingdom of Satan. It was the very structure that he took with him, when he rebelled against God and lost his position in the heavens.
The scripture says:
“Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on its heads. Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born.”
Revelation 12:3-4 NIV
This dramatic image reveals to us, how the dragon (Satan) took his organizational structure with him, from the presence of God after he was expelled to the earth. His organizational structure is still in force today, as they were at the birth of Christ.
We need to see the desperation in the Devil here. Immediately he lost his place before God, he positioned himself against the woman who was to carry the seed of Christ. Satan knew that after loosing his position among the angels in the heavens, his next spiritual war will be to try and stop Christ from coming through the woman. He knew about the seed of the woman to crush his head.
The Lord had told him after he had deceived Adam and Eve:
“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.””
Genesis 3:15 NKJV
These two scripture texts (Revelation 12:4 and Genesis 3:15) illustrates, the intense spiritual battle that every woman goes through during pregnancies. There are demonic forces from hell that had been assigned to stop pregnant women from having their babies. The Devil wants that baby in the womb of the woman. He will do everything possible to get the soul of the child from conception. If he fails he will do everything possible to take the life of that child during pregnancy, at the point of birth or after birth.
Satan always plans to hinder the birth of babies. Miscarriages, abortions, murders and so on are some of his tactics today. The enmity between Satan and the woman has never ended. And it will never end, because the Devil knows that God’s mission for the world can only be carried out through human beings. He will stop at nothing in stopping babies from growing up to fulfill God’s destinies for their lives.
This is a spiritual truth that every woman on earth today needs to know. Satan doesn’t want you to have babies. He will do anything to stop you from having one. He has never changed and will never change. You are involved in a spiritual warfare for your children. Satan wants them. But you have to put on your full armor in this battle always against him.
The major thing we need to understand here is that, long before the time of Jesus the spiritual warfare for His birth had been fought and won from the foundation of the earth (see Revelation 13:8). This was what the Spirit of Jesus revealed to John on the Island of Patmos (see details in Revelation 12).
The scripture says about the child:
“She gave birth to a son, a male child, who “will rule all the nations with an iron scepter.” And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.”
Revelation 12:5 NIV
This verse reveals the victory of God over Satan. Jesus was the first male child (son) of Joseph and Mary. He was the “son of man”. He carried the form of a male child in him at birth; but He was destined to rule the earth. He fulfilled his mission on the earth, died, rose from the dead and ascended into the heavens, to rule over the nations and all things eternally (John 13:3).
The male child of Mary never became the Son of God until He ascended to the heavens. The scripture above tells us that the angels from above snatched Him away into God’s bosom. By being snatched to the heavens, Jesus became the first Son of God, as He rose from the dead and ascended into the heavens. But while on the earth He was not different from us all.
The enemy will fight God’s word in you always
Every manifestation of evils during your trials and tests of faith; are just attempts by the forces of evil to make you believe that, they are in charge of your life. But in fact you are the one in charge. Christ has given you the victory. You have authority over them all in the name of Jesus.
That’s why you are fighting the good fight of your faith right now. It takes faith for you to gain access into the spiritual realm, so as to take hold of the victory which is yours. All that are yours can only be spiritually accessed by faith. You can’t see them with your physical eyes. Satan will do anything to blur your ability to see into that realm of the spirit. He knows that anything that you can see spiritually, you can have it here on the earth by using your faith. That’s why you don’t ever have to take anything that the Devil brings across your pathway. He is a liar and a deceiver.
The word of God in your life is all that he is fighting against. He doesn’t want you to be fruitful with God’s word in you. He knows that everything that God speaks into your heart are yours.
Satan will use human beings around you to carry out his schemes against you. He can’t touch you directly, but he will work through the people, who are receptive of his manipulative moves against you.
He will use them in watering down the effect of God’s word in your life. That’s why you need to be careful about the crowd around you. Jesus was always careful with the crowd that followed Him. And we do know from the scriptures, that He often likes to move away from them in order to pray. He did this to prevent the crowd from having the edge, over the Word flow from the Father through Him.
If the enemy could use Judas Iscariot in betraying Jesus; he can use anybody around you. So put your faith in God alone, and never in men. The very people who are praising you today, are the ones that the enemy will manipulate to pull you down.
The satanic structure is still operational today
These wise men were Satan’s secret agents at the time of the birth of Christ. Their ability to interpret the times and seasons does reveal some facts to us; about how “the wicked spirits of the rulers of darkness of this earth” do operate.
These wise men were given inside information from the highest position of authority, in the satanic system of operations – “the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”.
Before the wise men knew that the Savior was born, Satan had already lost the battle in the heavens to prevent His birth. The wise men knew that no one on earth could stop what God had ordained. Their mission therefore became to help Satan hatch out a second plan against the child.
Their visit to Herod can be seen in this light. Herod sought after the life of the new born King; because of the information that he received from these three wise men.
When the shepherds proclaimed the birth of Christ, Herod did nothing about it. But he acted only on the information from these secret agents of Satan. That’s how those who work in the dark are often aligned with one another.
You are a winner at all times
And that’s the same manner in which satanic forces will react to the call of God over your life. They know that they can’t stop you, but they will try to slow you down. By slowing you down Satan thinks he will be able to limit your accomplishments on the earth, with the anointing over your life.
Remember that the scripture says:
“..woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
Revelation 12:12b NIV
Satan has very limited time to do havoc on the earth. That’s why he will do everything to limit your ability to get people saved, healed and delivered.
If he tried it with the visit of these wise men to Herod, at the period of the birth of Christ; be forewarned that he will stir up controversies and conspiracies against you also. He knows that every time you are in God’s perfect plan for your life; he is loosing grounds while God is gaining grounds.
But remember what the bottomline is at the end of it all. You win always. You were never created in the image of God to loose any fight of faith on the earth. At the end of it all, the good book says:
“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”
Revelation 12:11 NLT
Now that’s why the victory that you do have, should be making you to rejoice as you celebrate the victory over evil at the birth of Christ. HAVE A JOY OVERFLOWING CHRISTMAS!
