Jesus said:
“You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 AMP
A twilight Christian is always seeking to hide his true identity in the midst of a crooked and evil world. He has the light of Christ in him, but he is not willing to allow the light in him, to shine through the darkness of the world around him.
Jesus wants to shine through every believer in His name to the end of the earth. He has called us all out to be a witness to His name in the darkness of this world.
He said:
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
It’s only when we become witnesses to His name, that His light can truly shine through us. That’s why we are His followers – to be witnesses to His life, death and resurrection till the end of the earth.
Christians through all the ages had been doing this. Being a witness to the works of Jesus is not limited to them alone, but it is for us also, so that we can become partakers of His glory, just like them.
In ages past Christians had been allowing His light to shine through them, as they yielded their lives in obedience to His command to go to the end of the earth. That was why they got the results that they had as they went in obedience to Him.
But for the twilight Christian the journey to the end of the earth begins and ends at his “Jerusalem”. He can’t go beyond “Jerusalem”, because he is not willing to allow the light of Christ in his life to shine.
The Lord God did not get us saved to become part of the spectator at “Jerusalem”. He got every believer in His name saved, so that we may all become participants in the public shaming of the devil to the end of the earth.
The light of Christ can only shine through us, when we take up the responsibility to make it shine. So, are you daily putting on His light whenever you are in the world outside of the Church?
Jesus can only use those who are willing and obedient to His word. Those who are not allowing His light to shine in the darkness of this world, are indeed covering the light of Christ within them.
This bold statement by the Apostle Paul is gaslighting about this to the end of the earth:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Romans 1:16 NKJV
There is no shame for those who have tasted the power of God. It’s impossible for them to hide the light of Christ in them, because they know that it’s His light that gives them life.
The shame of their lives has been removed by the washing of the blood of Jesus. They can therefore stand boldly proclaiming Him as Lord and Savior to the end of the earth.
They have tasted of the goodness of God. They are therefore unable to confine the fire of His Spirit within their bones. They have to let it burn and glow to the end of the earth. The burning fire of His Spirit that got them saved gives them the shining light, as they go out into the darkness of the world around them.
The ministry of angels follows the obedient.
Therefore, their lives which has been made a spectacle to the unsaved world, is now actually hidden in Christ Jesus. The light of Christ is on public display within them.
The angels of the Lord are encamped around them wherever they go in obedience to the command of Jesus to “go ye” (Matthew 28:19). They are with them in everything that they do. They are watching over them with eyes like that of an eagle.
The Angel of the Lord becomes like a shield around them everywhere they go, to give them the supernatural protection of God from the wiles of the devil.
Their personal angels are always assisting them in putting the devil on the run:
“Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.”
I Chronicles 16:22 NKJV
It’s important to note here that angelic beings cannot do anything to help, or minister to those who are hiding the light of Christ within them. They can only minister to those whose lifestyle is being reflective, of who they proclaim themselves to be in Christ Jesus.
Angels can’t be deceived. They know who is really devoted to the Lord God in a Covenant relationship with Him, just as they know those who are not.
That’s why our Christian lifestyle has to reflect the harmony between us and the hosts of Heaven, for His light to be able to shine through us. Angels are always at work to brighten the pathway of those who are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. They are the ones who causes His light to shine through them to the end of the earth:
“Are not the angels all ministering spirits (servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are to inherit salvation?”

They are at work in getting souls saved into God’s Kingdom. The Holy Spirit convinces the sinner of his sin (John 16:8-9); but the angels of God are at work to assist him in making the decision to follow Jesus by ministering salvation to him.
This is why it’s incomprehensible that a child of God could compromise his Covenant with the Lord God, or that the twilight Christian would want to draw back into the darkness from which he was delivered.
Of course, it’s the devil who entices them to do this, but the ultimate responsibility for their action rests on them alone, and not on the devil. A life that’s not fully devoted to follow Christ is a life that’s full of crisis.
There is nothing that neither the Holy Spirit nor the angels can do to assist such Christians to live a better life in Christ Jesus, until they return back with a committed heart of devotion to live in accordance with their Covenant with God (Matthew 12:31 and Exodus 23:20-21).
Spiritual harmony with God on the earth is important for His will to become established as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:10).
The lifestyle of a Christian has to exhibit the spiritual harmony that’s within him, for the light of Christ to be able to shine through him.
The angels of God rely on our ability to be in spiritual harmony with them, so that they can be able to help us in doing the works of God’s Kingdom on the earth. They will supply everything that is needed for you to do the will of God, if only you will cooperate with them.
The Lord God clearly highlighted the correlation between our acts of obedience to His written word, and the ministry of the angels to us, when He spoke these words through Moses to the children of Israel in the wilderness:
“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. “So, you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
Exodus 23:20-22, 25-26 NKJV
We can see clearly here that the Angel of God has the total and complete authority of God, to act on His behalf in this world. The protection that we do have from the angels is conditional. The condition is in our acts of obedience to God’s word, because whenever angels speak, they speak only God’s word on His behalf to us.
That’s the only language that they understand and speak. Anything that is contrary to the written word of God is strange to them.
Whether you believe it or not, the angels of the Lord are always encamped, around those who are fulfilling the will of God on the earth. They are watching over every step that they take. They are listening to every word that they are speaking.
And oftentimes angels will put words in the mouth of the witnessing Christian, to be speaking to the people who are listening to them. This is how the angels are working behind the scenes to bring God’s salvation to the end of the earth.
The confession of our faith, therefore, has to be based on the written word of God. It’s what gives the angels the opportunity to act on our behalf.
If a Christian is only confessing what the devil is doing in his life, then the angels of God can’t do anything about his situation, so as to deliver him. They are limited in their actions to the words of our mouth. They are listening to see, if they are in agreement with the written word of God.
So, if you want the angels of heaven to become active on your behalf, let God’s word abide in your heart until it starts coming out of your mouth.
We can also see in these words of Moses above, that the blessing of the Lord in our lives as the people of God is also conditional. It’s conditional on our acts of obedience to His written word, and the word of His angels to us.
Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean that God’s blessing will automatically be following you. You have a duty to be living your Christian life in accordance with His teachings, as presented in the Scriptures to us.
God can’t overlook any unrighteous act in your life as His child to bless you. By living righteously before Him, you are positioning yourself for His blessing. He had already said:
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:”
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NKJV
His blessing is as a result of His goodness in our lives. So therefore, how do we walk in obedience to the voice of the angels? We do it by walking in obedience to the written word of God (the Bible).
Angels know what God’s word says in comparison to our lifestyle patterns. They are only waiting for us to keep on confessing it, until they can see faith arising in our hearts. When faith arises through our daily confessions, the angels will act swiftly and with speed to establish whatever they hear us confessing.
That’s why you can’t afford to be sloppy with your daily confession of faith. You can’t be confessing His promises before the angels, and then be confessing negatively about those same promises before the ungodly people of this world.
This is how a lot of Christians are shooting themselves in the foot with their sloppy mouths. They can’t experience the best that the Lord God has for them, because the angels can’t act on their sloppy confessions of faith.
A Christian who transgresses the word of God will also receive the rebuke of the angels. They will not pardon such transgression from a child of God, who knows what God’s word says, but who is living in disobedience to it.
The only transgression that they don’t ever remember again is the one that has been cleared up, by the washing of the blood of Jesus Christ. They don’t have any record of it anymore with them, just as the Lord God doesn’t have any record of it anymore.
As soon as a sin is confessed before the Lord God, there’s no record of it again. The only records that they have are the records of our acts of obedience to the word of God.
And there are rewards waiting in heaven and on the earth, for every act of our obedience to His word, because:
“Evil pursues sinners, but to the righteous, good shall be repaid.”
Proverbs 13:21 NKJV
The spirit of disobedience has brought transgression into the lives of many; but as soon as they repent and receive the Spirit of obedience by faith in Christ Jesus, they are made righteous before God again.
God does not impute sin on anyone who has been made His righteousness in Christ Jesus. But there is a reward of righteous living that awaits them on the earth and in glory.
As we can see in the above scripture text, God can only bless us as long as we are steadfast in walking obediently to His word.
This is how a twilight or compromised Christian who repents and reorders his way of life, to fit into what God’s word says is blessed of the Lord God.
The angels are there to help him as long as there is a heart of commitment, to live and follow in the Covenant by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Not only is he blessed; but the protection of the angels is made readily available to him, so as to prevent him from falling into the temptation of transgressing God’s word again.
The righteous man cannot willfully transgress God’s word and think that he will be able to escape the rebuke of the angels of God. It’s impossible.
The angels of God cannot act contrary to what is already written in the Scriptures. They can only act on the earth to bring the will of the Father in Heaven to become established on the earth.
Angels will assist you in your priestly assignments.
The Apostle Peter said:
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
I Peter 2:9 NKJV
Every believer in Christ Jesus has a priestly role to play on the earth, so as to establish the will of God, in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are the royal priesthood of God on this earth.
There is no Christian who is not called to be doing something for the Lord God on this earth.
We are called the people of God on the earth for the sole purpose of proclaiming His praises, so as to turn around the darkness of this world, into the light of Christ everywhere that we go.
That’s the priestly role we are all called to play on the earth as Christians. Every one of us may be playing this role differently. But the main goal of everything that we are all doing as His priests on the earth, is to continually give praises to God.
By praising God through our witnessing, we are silencing the devil and his cohorts. We are making them powerless and ineffective in stopping the expansion of God’s Kingdom on the earth. Our praises bring increase into the Kingdom of God on the earth.
This makes the Body of Christ the most powerful gathering of people on the earth today. Angels are powerless without the help of Christians, who are acting based on their Covenant promises with God.
God lives in us by His Spirit. We are empowered by the Spirit of God, as we are stepping out in faith to bind the works of the devil, everywhere we go on the earth as His witnesses. The Holy Spirit does the works of God through us, as we are declaring the purposes and judgements of heaven over the earth.
Jesus said:
“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:19 NKJV
The keys of the Kingdom heaven are already in our hands. We had been authorized to use these keys here on the earth to bind and loose. The Spirit of the Lord God Who lives in us, empowers us to use these keys in the right way, as we put the enemy on the run.
These keys are the mysteries into the wisdom of God on the inside of us.
As Paul said:
“To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,”
Ephesians 3:8-11 NKJV
The Body of Christ has the keys into the manifold wisdom of God. Angels don’t have it; but us. The angels are only there to assist us in the use of the keys in our possession.
That’s why the Bible says again about the angels concerning us:
“But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.”
Hebrews 2:6-8 NKJV
All things in heaven and the earth are under our feet as the people of God. The angels are subject to obey our commands, because Jesus had given us all authority in Heaven and on the earth. The angels are aware of it.
You are therefore not a pushover to the devil. He trembles in the fear of who you are in Christ Jesus.
When we are declaring the word of God (the promises according to our Covenant with Him), the angels of the Lord are released to act on our behalf.
But our ability to do exploits with the keys of God’s Kingdom is solely in our hearts and on our lips. If you are not prepared to speak God’s word, you will never be able to tap into those mysteries, that are already available within the Body of Christ.
As David said to the Lord God:
“You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah”
Psalms 21:2 NKJV
Even king Nebuchadnezzar could say these words of Daniel, who was not even filled with the Holy Spirit like us today:
“ .. Of a truth your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a Revealer of secret mysteries, seeing that you could reveal this secret mystery!”
Daniel 2:47 AMPC
Daniel had the secret mysteries of God, even though he was not filled with the Holy Ghost like us today.
God can never withhold the request of your mouth as His royal priest on the earth. And with this empowerment of the Spirit and His word we can go into the nations, declaring His Kingdom come in His strength and power.
The angels of the Lord God are there to assist you in fulfilling your royal priestly duty. This makes you superior in power to the principalities and powers of this world. They tremble in fear of who you are in Christ Jesus.
Go therefore in harmony with His authority.
Jesus said to go into all the earth and preach the gospel to all creatures. He never said that He is the One going.
It’s where you go, that He will go with you. He has sent us out to go in His Name. But we are however to go in the demonstration of the power of His Kingdom.
This was how Jesus did the works of His Father on the earth. He expects us to do it just like Him. He taught and preached everywhere by demonstrating what He taught and preached with miracles, signs and wonders.
The scriptures say:
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.”
Matthew 4:23-25 NKJV
The works that He did testify about Him as the Son of God. The people could not deny it.
This is exactly what Jesus expects of us in the use of our authority and power, to save the lost, heal the sick and deliver the captives.
When we are in spiritual harmony with the will of the Father on the earth, the use of our authority will produce the power that was in Jesus also.
Jesus was in harmony with the Father always in everything that He did on the earth. Spiritual harmony with the Father and the Holy Spirit is essential if you want to achieve the same result as Jesus.
There is nothing else that can convince the world, apart from what you have personally experienced with Jesus being in your life.
Every Christian do have a testimony to share with the lost world. Each testimony gives glory and praises to God. The unsaved world is longing to hear your testimony (Romans 8:19).
What has Jesus done for you lately? What have you seen Him do for others? He expects us to be simple about what we had personally encountered with Him, and what He had done for others. He expects us to become witnesses of those things to the end of the earth.
This is what causes faith to rise up within the heart of those who are listening to your testimony. And they will be saved, healed and delivered because of your testimony.
They will be healed and delivered as you lay your hands on them in obedience to the command of Jesus (Mark 16:18).
So therefore, go in His name and be a witness to the glory of God, the Father.
