The Apostle Peter at the beginning of his first letter to all believers in Christ Jesus, described us as being those:
“who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.”
1 Peter 1:2 NIV
The process of sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian. God is never in a hurry to complete what He has started in your life as a Christian. But we all do have an obligation to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, who lives in us as we go through this process.
Sanctification is what leads a Christian to be fully and completely obedient to God’s word. No true Christian can ever discredit the work of the blood of Jesus Christ. When as an example a Christian is denying that he or she had been healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ; such a Christian is discrediting the sprinkling of His blood over his or her life. We don’t need to feel healed before we have to believe that we are healed. Sanctification helps us to be walking in total and complete obedience to the word of God concerning the healing of our bodies.
Our faith walk begins with our act of obedience to God’s word, as we release it to believe that we are healed. If God’s word says so, then we are healed and nothing can ever change that. God’s word is the foundation upon which our faith in the Lord for healing stands.
Our act of obedience to believe God’s word begins the process of sanctification, for us to be able to stay healed and healthy. By yielding with our heart to the Holy Spirit, we will become the vessels of honor to His glory through sanctification.
The Christian who is refusing to acknowledge the work of the blood of Jesus, is more likely to be involved in one form of the occult or another. And there are many today in the midst of the ongoing C19, who are knowingly or unknowingly doing so. They will mentally acknowledge what God’s word says about healing; but they can’t bring themselves to walk in obedience to God’s word, due to their unholy alliance with the evil works of this world.
The enemy is busy recruiting
The devil is busy enlisting such people into the occult during this ongoing pandemic. And his strategy is important for any Kingdom minded believer in Christ not to be overlooking.
However, as a prayerful Christian you will need the Lord to help you in discerning his tactics around you. The enemy has different tactics that are being deployed by him into different communities around the world, so as to enlist the people who are working for him.
That’s why it’s important to be praying a lot more in the spirit during this ongoing pandemic (1 Corinthians 14:2). This is a spiritual warfare, and it can only be won in the spirit.
Even though the enemy is busy recruiting more people for himself, but at the same time the Lord is pouring more of His anointing on His Body for prayer and intercession.
There is an intensive spiritual warfare that is going on right now all over the world. Not only are nations trying to dominate one another, but rebellion against those in one form of authority or another is increasing daily. It’s impossible for anyone to be exercising spiritual authority as a Christian, if such a person is not walking in obedience to the word of God. No one can effectively exercise spiritual authority over the enemy without constantly walking in obedience to God’s word. The enemy knows those who are completely walking in obedience to God and those who are not.
And it’s only in our prayer closet that we can be able to defeat the forms of occultism, which are being unleashed by the enemy into our world today (Matthew 6:6). In most cases the enemy is targeting those who are not walking in complete and total obedience to God’s word as his recruits, against those who are walking in complete and total obedience to the Lord.
There is no way you can ever confront demonic activities in the flesh. If anyone tries to confront them in the flesh, that person will only make a mess of himself. The flesh is the enemy’s tuff for launching his demonic operations. The enemy doesn’t want you to spiritually confront him. He knows that he is weak when you are in the spirit. That’s why he will do everything possible to hinder or stop you from praying in other tongues.
The Apostle Paul advised us not to forget:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 6:12 NKJV
We are in a spiritual warfare with spiritual beings, who are seeking human bodies through which they can operate. We can’t confront them in the flesh, and expect to overcome them. This is why it’s important to be walking in obedience to the word of God. It’s what will give any child of God the advantage over them in the spirit realm, as the blood of Jesus is being applied against those evil forces and their activities.
The angels of God are there to assist in this spiritual warfare, for as long as a Christian is walking in obedience to the written word of God:
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty... For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.”
Psalms 91:1,11-13 NKJV
According to David in this Psalms, it is only those who are dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, who are protected by the angels of God. And the only way to dwell in that secret place of heavenly protection is by walking in obedience to God’s word. When you are walking in obedience to God’s word, you are attracting angelic protection and empowerment all around your pathway.
Do you know that the devil who is enlisting workers of evil in this spiritual wrestling match, does not even trust those who he is enlisting? The devil does not trust himself either. He is so full of lies and deceptions to the extent that, he does not even believe in his own lies and deceptions.
Even though his cohorts are operating with a hierarchical order that he had gotten before his fall from the heavens, they don’t always obey one another (Isaiah 14:12-21).
Demons don’t always follow their superior’s order. They may follow orders for a while from those immediately above them, but because they are jealous of each other’s positions within their ranks, they are bond to eventually rebel against those who are higher than them.
The devil functions best where there is disorderliness and chaos. Evil spirits don’t have a united front against you as a child of God. That’s a great advantage that you do have over them. Your ability to always pray in the spirit puts them in disarray, every time you are doing so.
Evil spirits are always fighting among themselves. And their master (the devil) uses this division and disunity to affirm his sway over them all (1 John 5:19). The devil is powerful among his own for as long as division and disunity exist among them.
Even witches don’t often agree with one another. They use fear and intimidation always as their control mechanism over communities and nations. That’s why you must be strong in faith to confront them with boldness. This is the advantage that you do have as a child of God over them. You have all power in heaven and on earth to cast them out in the name of Jesus (Mark 16:17). They are subject to you, for as long as you are using your authority over them with holy boldness. By living a sanctified lifestyle, you become a threat to them.
Always walk in love towards your fellow Christians
That’s why we need to be careful about allowing the enemy to push us into the dangerous situation, where we are seeing other Christians as the enemy, instead of seeing him as the real enemy. The moment we begin to see other Christians as enemies, we will become ineffective in our prayer life.
And that’s exactly what the devil wants us to believe. It’s one of his tactics to defeat the believers in Christ during this spiritual warfare. That’s why the Apostle John said:
“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”
I John 4:17-19 NKJV
We must always walk in love towards all Christians, but have a holy hatred towards the enemy and his works. And to be able to cultivate a holy hatred towards evil; the spirit, soul and body of the believer in Christ must be sanctified. Sanctification helps you to walk in love towards other Christians, even when it’s difficult for you to do so. Your life as a child of God becomes easier, when you are sanctified in your spirit, soul and body.
Otherwise, the enemy will do everything possible to get you into operating in the flesh, where he knows he can tempt you to do stupid things, that will make you to sin against God.
You may not necessarily see eye to eye with another Christian in all matters. But that Christian is just like you in the presence of the Lord. The Lord sees us all in the same light as brothers and sisters to Jesus Christ. He sees us all as His children. And children of the same family may disagree with one another; but they don’t like it at all when an outsider wants to meddle in their family situations (1 Corinthians 6:1-11).
“He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.”
I John 2:9-11 NKJV
And as long as a Christian has any hatred towards people, most especially towards the people of God, that Christian should never expect God to answer his or her prayer (Matthew 6:14-16 and 5:23-25).
Instead of gossiping or talking bad about your fellow Christians, you ought to go to the Lord about your concerns for them, without necessarily letting anyone else know about it.
God is your Father and theirs also. Every family dispute or misunderstanding needs to go before the head of the family, who in this case is God. He alone can fix what you are trying to fix in the flesh with your fellow Christian. Go before Him in prayer and plead your case in the name of your Big Brother – Jesus Christ.
By doing so you are asking the Lord to reveal what you don’t know, about the situation with your fellow Christian to you. And He will reveal those things to you (Jeremiah 33:3).
The unsaved world is already following the devil. The enemy is not concerned about them. He is more concerned about you and your prayer life. And he will do anything to prevent you from praying.
But it’s only those who are walking in complete and total obedience to the teachings of Christ, that are really dangerous to him. That’s why he has assigned those who are knowingly or unknowingly practicing their Christianity, with some attachments outside the Church to occultism in targeting them.
In most cases such people do have more friends in the world than inside the Church. By the company that they are keeping outside the Church, you will know them (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Yes, the devil goes to Church also
And sometimes these satanic agents can show real commitment to the local Church than other followers of Christ. They will do it so as to deceive those who are truly committed to Christ. The only problem with them is that they are short of fully acknowledging Christ Jesus, as coming to the earth in the flesh:
“For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.”
II John 1:7 NKJV
Secondly, they won’t acknowledge the sprinkled blood of Jesus Christ as working in their own personal lives. The devil and his cohorts fear your application of the blood of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:13 and 1 Corinthians 11:27). These are the two major things that they dread about Christians.
An occultist in church may show enthusiasm for the things of God’s Kingdom, even though there is no genuine commitment to Christ in him or her. They always have an ulterior motive that’s evil for being around Christians. And if you are not being careful in your prayer life, they may go about doing lots of havoc around you undetected.
Another thing that they are deficient about is prayer. They can’t pray beyond their personal needs. They are selfish when it comes to making sacrifices in praying for others. And most importantly they can only pray soulish prayers to satisfy the lust of their flesh. In most cases they can only pray in forms like this: “Oh God, bless my family, my work and my business. Amen.”
They can’t intercede in prayer for others. They can’t pray the prayer of supplication, and by the fruit of their prayer life you will know them. Every Christian is fruitful in their prayer lives, but they are always in need of your prayer for them. They can’t pray under a corporate anointing. When others are praying around them, they are unmoved because of their attachment to the world of the occult.
And often the enemy uses them in this way to manipulate and control the prayer life of others. He uses them in this way to prevent you from praying for those who truly needs it. An occultist in any prayer group within the Body of Christ is seeking to manipulate and control such a group, so as to prevent the group from praying and interceding for those who are truly in need of prayer.
Many great Churches and Ministries are suffering today, because of these types of people who had successfully mingled with their prayer groups, with the aim of hindering or stopping the move of God through prayer.
An occultist can’t praise and worship God freely in the spirit when alone. But they do love to sing soulish songs, that has nothing to do with Christ. They will acknowledge Jesus as Lord, but they can’t worship Him in the Spirit and in truth.
Especially while others are praising and worshiping under a corporate anointing, they are always doing it out of rhythm from others. They can’t flow in the Spirit of praise and worship with others. They will do these things since their spirit is not hundred percent yielded to the Lord. An occultist in the Church is never committed to living, based on the standard of God’s written word. They will always put their own hidden agendas above God’s word. This is the form of modern-day witchcraft within the Body of Christ.
These are some of the signs that can help in recognizing some occultic attachments, that are preventing their spiritual growth in Christ Jesus.
And evidently, they will need to repent and renounce their attachment with the enemy, before they can be delivered. The problem is that many of them are not really seeking deliverance, due to the forces of evil that are hindering them.
But they do need to be interceded for, until the light of Christ shines through their heart to start seeking deliverance. And you can help them to start seeking deliverance by praying in the spirit for them (Ephesians 6:18).
As you are doing this for them, it’s important to protect yourself from the attack of the enemy personally targeting you; because as soon as you are praying for them in the spirit, the enemy will surely come after you. They belong to the devil. He will do everything to defend them, if he can find an opening in your personal life.
That’s why your sanctification is important, as the enemy can’t penetrate the walls of protection around you through sanctification. It’s because of them that Jude advised us, when he said:
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.”
Jude 1:20-23 NKJV
It’s the sign of the beginning of the evil days
The Apostle John also warned us about them when he said:
“By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
I John 4:2-3, 5-6 NKJV
And of course, the devil has some of them as fake ministers of the gospel. Those who are operating under the influence of the spirit of occultism within the Body of Christ, will always preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to please the world and their fleshy desires.
The declaration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the demonstration of His power is offensive to them. They are uncomfortable with such gatherings of the believers in Christ Jesus, where the sick people are being healed and the captives are being delivered.
Their occultic practices does not necessarily means that they are the real Antichrist. But evidently, they are operating already under the influence of that spirit unknowingly to them already. They are ascribing to everything that points directly to the Antichrist. They are the little foxes within your vineyard (Song of Solomon 2:15).
The devil is getting ready for the Antichrist to eventually manifest. And what he is doing now during this pandemic points to us that, the Antichrist will eventually come from within the Church. He will have some strong attachment with the Body of Christ.
I personally do not believe that the Antichrist will be a political figure. He is going to have a very strong connection with the Body of Christ. That’s why the enemy is so busy right now, fighting to get his way into being able to control and manipulate Churches even through C19.
The Bible warned us again:
“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.”
I John 2:18-19 NKJV
There are already many who are operating under the influence of his spirit within the Body of Christ. As an example, a Christian who is not doing anything to live a sanctified or holy life is not getting ready for the return of the Lord. And the enemy finds such Christians as being effective, in serving his objective against God’s people who are being sanctified.
Those who are in any form of cult knowingly or unknowingly are never interested in the teachings about sanctification, because they are really not interested in the return of the Lord. They see it as being too dangerous to their objective and goal.
They will always say that they will make it to heaven. But as the Bible says if anyone is not really seeking to be sanctified or holy, that person is not really interested in the return of the Lord. And if anyone is not really interested in the return of the Lord, that person is not seeking to go to heaven. This is because Jesus is coming back for a sanctified, holy and glorious Church. He is coming back for the Church that is eagerly looking forward for His return.
The lifestyle of the occultists in Churches is always focused more on everything that has to do with the flesh and the world. They don’t want to listen to what other Christians had experienced, during your personal devotion or Church meetings. Any discussion about spiritual truth will expose them into the light of Christ Jesus. And they don’t want their evil works to be exposed.
That’s why you will often hear people saying that, the Body of Christ has been declaring the return of the Lord for a long time now; without it actually happening.
What they don’t want to acknowledge as stated in the scriptures is that, the Lord is not going to return until His people are living in sanctification and holiness.
The people of God must be living in holiness for His return to take place. And if you are not seeking to be sanctified in your spirit, soul and body; you are not getting yourself ready for the Lord’s return. You are not seeking to be like Jesus, even though you may be a Christian. You are not seeking to be complete in Christ Jesus (Hebrews 13:20-21 and Colossians 2:9-10).
As the Apostle Peter said again:
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?”
II Peter 3:10-12 NKJV
Pay attention to verses eleven and twelve above. A Christian’s conduct and manner of life should be in holiness and godliness, as you are being prepared for the return of the Lord.
A Christian who is living a holy lifestyle is prepared for the Lord. He is hastening the return of the Lord. If you as a Christian are tired and fed up with the wickedness and evil going on in the world today, you ought to be living a holy life, so as to start preparing yourself for the Lord to return.
That’s because whether you like it or not, things are going to get worse. What the world is going through right now is just the iceberg of the beginning into the end. By living a holy or sanctified life in your spirit, soul and body; you are separating yourself apart from the evil of the world and for Jesus as His Bride. You are getting yourself ready to meet Jesus. That’s supposed to be your goal as a Christian.
Jesus is not coming back for a sinful bunch of people. He is coming back for His glorious Church, without spot or blemish (Ephesians 5:27). He is coming back for those who had made themselves ready for Him in holy living with their spirit, soul and body. Start getting yourself ready for Him now! And most importantly:
“Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.”
I John 5:21 NKJV
