Being in the ministry especially for those who are new into it, may initially seem as if you are stepping into an unfamiliar landscape. You may have been used to being independent, in taking care of your business before God called you. But you are now learning a new thing, about how God can take care of you and others. You are discovering certain things, that no one ever told you about living by faith.

Let me be upfront with you, that in this new life you will need to learn, how to live by faith in God; for you to be able to enjoy the blessings of prosperity in it. God’s will for you is your prosperity.

The Psalmist said:

Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”
Psalms 35:27 NKJV

The Lord who called and anointed you for the ministry, delights with great pleasure in your prosperity. He takes no glory in the poverty of any Preacher of the gospel. He wants you to have everything, that is needed to get the job done.

The Devil is the one who takes the glory in the poverty of any human being. I have seen poverty in various shapes and forms across the world. There is no other way to describe it, other than it being a curse from the pit of hell. The Devil is the author of poverty. God is the author of prosperity.

Now prosperity doesn’t have to do with just money, as most people often think it is. But it includes good health, divine protections, long life and much more. God never called you to serve Him, and then abandon you without any provision to fulfill your call.

Take possession of the ungodly wealth

In reality God desires with a passion to see you, take over the wealth of the ungodly around you. All of their ill gotten wealth are meant for you, to do what God called you to do.

As the Bible says:

“A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.
Proverbs 13:22 AMPC

The ungodly are gathering up riches for you to fulfill your destiny in God. There is a supernatural transfer of wealth taking place now in the realm of the spirit. You can see some of them around you on a daily basis. And some other riches are hidden just for you to later discover them.

As Daniel said:

He (God) reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
Daniel 2:22 NIV

But whether you see these riches now or later, you’ve got to use your faith to be able to take them. And for you to be effective in this, you will need knowledge and wisdom from God, about the “hidden things” and “what lies in darkness”. You can only get them as you intensify pressure on God’s word to work for you. Knowledge and wisdom comes, as you continually live by faith in the spirit to hear from God. He knows all the secrets to the wealth of the evil people. He will reveal their secrets to you. He will show you where their hidden stuffs are. And He will position you in places, for you to be able to take them. They all belong to you.

The application of the knowledge and wisdom will be just, as Jesus once described it in this Parable:

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
Matthew 13:44 NIV

In other words the ungodly wealth are hidden and concealed for you to discover. And in most cases they will look like junks. But you’ve got to be smart about taking possession of it.

You are wealthier than you can ever imagine

The Lord has said about your riches:

I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”
Isaiah 45:3 NIV

God never called you into poverty. His desire is for you to be prosperous, because you are working for Him. And He is the wealthiest and strongest employer in the world. He knows that you will require money, to do what you’ve been called to do. And from the moment He called you, provision had already been made, for you to get all the resources that you will need. You were anointed for increase and multiplication, and not for destitution or poverty.

But firstly, you must understand that this new life in Christ Jesus, does offer you a completely different spiritual and financial landscape from that of the world. God’s economy doesn’t work like the world’s economy; but it is far more wealthier, than all of the world’s economic systems put together.

You are operating in two forms of economies as a child of God. You have the economy and financial systems of this world to deal with. And you are also functioning on a higher spiritual level in God’s economy. That’s the advantage you have over the ungodly. They don’t know what you have, and they can’t touch it.

God’s financial system can never be measured by the world’s standard. It is unmeasurable and incompatible with it. The unsaved world doesn’t really understand how it works, and that’s why they are always critical of it. And whatsoever they don’t understand, they will always criticize out of ignorance.

The ungodly can never be able to comprehend, the depth of the riches, and mysteries of God in Christ Jesus towards you. It is unattainable to them; and that’s why they are often critical of wealthy Christians. Their usual thought of Christians is often associated with poverty. Their thinking is that Christians are poor people, who must be pitied. What they do not understand about God, they will always try to make look like evil.

The world does like to often put the financial system of the people of God at par with their own. And that’s where they are dead wrong. God’s standard is in reality far higher than all of this world’s systems put together. The financial and economic systems of the world, are ridden with corruptions, exploitations, evil and catastrophes at every level.

While the world’s economic and financial systems, are being driven by the forces of social and political justices; God’s Kingdom is never and can never be moved in such a way. Heaven’s economic and financial system is engineered, designed, made and driven by God’s righteous judgment. And the system operates only for God’s people.

And that’s the good part of working for God, because all that you will need to operate successfully into your prosperity, is your connection and relationship with Him. The way God blesses you is by His Spirit and with His words. God does not ever rain money from the skies. But He does require that you use your faith, to receive what has been provided for you. He will reveal secret wealth to you, in words and by His Spirit. But you will need to use boldness in your faith to take a hold of it.

When you are acting in obedience to God’s word, you are positioning yourself in an area where Satan can’t ever touch you financially. This is very important for Churches and Ministries that are struggling with financial prosperity. Your obedience to the details in God’s calling to you, always positions you for the blessing. His blessing is manifested to you, through His goodness and loving kindness. Are you walking in obedience to the commands of God to you or not?

If you do know that God has been good to you, then you can’t be lacking in anything, to fulfill your call into the ministry. His blessing and His goodness is all that you need, to prosper financially in fulfilling your vision. So stop worrying about the financial aspect of your call. Start moving ahead by faith into the blessing of the Lord; as you begin to walk and live in it.

Discover your blessing

As an example when you read and study through the Psalms 23; you will begin to see how David positioned himself for the anointing oil, to continually flow in his calling as the king of Israel. David knew no lack even when he was in the wilderness; because of his connection and personal relationship with the One God, who called him and anointed him. David grew up into spiritual maturity, through the trouble times into knowing God as his Shepherd.

God’s provision was already made available for him, in the midst of all his troubles; because of the anointing oil over his life, which connected him with God. The blessing flows wherever your anointing oil is flowing. This was how David was guided to where his provisions were located. The goodness and the mercy (or the loving kindness) of the Lord was all that he needed to prosper. David lacked nothing. In addition to this, he did prospered and became very successful in everything. The same Lord that David served faithfully, is the God that you are serving also. He is your Good Shepherd.

Apostle Paul also wrote:

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)!”
Romans 11:33 AMPC

This was a man who knew what it meant to have plenty, and to have little also, while serving the Lord (Philippians 4:10-13). Yet with the little that he had, he was able to accomplish so much for the Lord; as he obeyed God’s word to go and preach the gospel to the gentiles. You are not different from Paul today.

That’s why he was able to say:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13 NKJV

Paul was strengthened on the inner man in the blessing of the Lord. Nothing could ever stop or hinder him from preaching the gospel. Do you know that Paul at the beginning of his ministry, never had any financial support from the leadership of the early Church at Jerusalem? He lived always by faith in God, and he was never left alone by the Lord. God was Paul’s greatest financier and biggest supporter. He prospered and always had enough to fulfill his calling.

Your calling is no different from Paul’s (Acts 13:1-3). Paul knew the “depth of the riches, wisdom and knowledge of God”. He made use of the wisdom and knowledge that were available through the preaching of the gospel, to create riches around himself in preaching the gospel everywhere he went. What are you doing with the wisdom and knowledge of God in you; so as to tap into the depth of God’s riches in your life? There is great wealth and riches in you (see James 3:17). Are you using your faith to tap into it?

You have no business comparing yourself and your calling with others. That’s the mistake which many Christians are making. You are unique to God. That’s why He called you into His Kingdom for a moment like this. You do have a special assignment from God. There is no other person to do, what you are doing in the ministry; but you alone. Heaven trusts you to do it faithfully. Begin to search through yourself today, and you will be amazed by the unique qualities that God has blessed you with.

It was the “riches, wisdom and knowledge of God” working in Paul, when he was making tents to support himself in fulfilling the call of God over his life (Acts 18:1-4). He knew how to make tents, and he used that gift to create wealth and riches in spreading the gospel. Paul never waited for someone to tell him, what to do in getting the money to obey God. He made use of what was already in his life from God. Are you seeing your prosperity or poverty? Your ability to prosper is right there on the inside of you. The blessing of the Lord is inside of you. Use it to create wealth and begin to change your world.

Stinginess is a curse

Paul once told the Thessalonians:

“…But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more; that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you, that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.”
I Thessalonians 4:10b-12 NKJV

You can never lack anything to do what God told you to do; if you are actually living by faith. Remember that stingy people are never blessed. Stinginess will cause you to become a beggar for everything, in fulfilling what God called you to do. People who do beg for everything, are not living in the blessing. God never called you into the begging ministry. He called you into the prosperity ministry.

David said again:

“I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lends; And his descendants are blessed.”
Psalms 37:25-26 NKJV

God’s will is your prosperity. You were created to be a blessing and a lender; not a beggar. Those who specialize in the begging ministry, will always struggle to live in the blessing of God. They were actually called to do something for the Lord, but the desire of their flesh has not yet been crucified into that calling. So they see nothing else to do, apart from what their flesh tells them to do, rather than using their faith which works through love (Galatians 5:6).

The appalling thing about this is that, God will use whatever you make available to Him in blessing you. You can either use your faith into your prosperity. Or you can use the fear of poverty, which leads to begging in destroying yourself. But stingy Christians will always beg, because they don’t know anything better to do. They are limiting God to prosper them, by trusting in the help of men instead of God, who can never disappoint or fail them.

Let generosity promote you into the blessing

The Psalmist says:

“All goes well for the person who is generous and lends willingly. He earns an honest living.”
Psalms 112:5 GW

A generous heart is prosperous. Generous people are cheerful givers, and they are living a honest lifestyle. They have sound financial judgments. They know how to make good investments that will always yield them a fortune. God sees them as His available vessels of blessing to the world.

A generous man guides his affairs always with discretion. The wisdom of God is always with him, in every decision of life that he makes; because of his delight in the law of the Lord. He seeks to please God always, because he knows that as the greatest secret into his prosperity.

But a stingy man is different. Instead of using his faith to press into his blessing place in Christ Jesus; he will rather put his faith in others. A stingy believer will use the faith of others, to do what God told him to do. He is spiritually lazy. He has failed before he even gets started.

The stingy man is always eager to get into any “get rich quick” scheme of the world, only to discover later on that his anointing, is not for him to follow after the lies and deceitfulness of the world.

The scriptures says:

A stingy person is in a hurry to get rich, not realizing that poverty is about to overtake him.”
Proverbs 28:22 GW

This explains why you might have seen Preachers, who are living in poverty. They can’t let their faith work for them through patience into divine prosperity. That’s why they get frustrated, as they act in the flesh into the quicker pathway to riches; like the people of the unsaved world. They will do this out of fear, so as to get rich quick at all costs. Disaster is always waiting for them. That’s why a stingy man is always financially broke. He’s always short in his finances.

The stingy man will always say:

..“I became wealthy because of my own ability and strength.
Deuteronomy 8:17b GW

A stingy man digs a hole to bury himself into, by relying on his own strength and abilities. He trusts more in his connections and relationships with people, rather than putting his faith in God. But there is really no wealth creation with the anointing oil, without your faith working to manifest the blessing into your life. God is the One who gives it all to you. He is the One to trust and follow. Stop following the ways and manners of the world to your wealth.

As Moses continued in telling the Israelites:

But remember the LORD your God is the one who makes you wealthy. He’s confirming the promise which he swore to your ancestors. It’s still in effect today.
Deuteronomy 8:18 GW

You were never called by God to be like these people. You can never walk into the prosperity of the Lord in fear. The fear of poverty will cause you to follow men. It will torture and torment you, until what you are afraid of happens in your life.

But your Heavenly Father has already blessed you. Start using your faith to tap into the blessing of the Lord over your life. Make the blessing manifest in replenishing your world.

God yearns to bless you beyond your imagination, open your heart to receive from him now. Your faith is your key to receive it. And your faith will always work for you, when you are using it! Let it start working for you now. Believe in God’s ability to prosper you through His word working in you. And start enjoying the blessing of the Lord.
