The name of Jesus belongs to everyone within the Body of Christ, to use in walking in constant victory over the enemy.
We do have the power over every power of the enemy in the name of Jesus. God Almighty has made all power available to us in our use of that name.
Jesus said:
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
Mark 16:17-18 NKJV
There is nowhere here that Jesus mentioned that only the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors can use His name.
No, He said that His name is for everyone who will believes in it. It does not matter if one got saved a minute ago or 100 years ago.
The name of Jesus is available to everyone who believes in Him to use it at any time, just as preaching the gospel is for everyone also.
You see, after the Church was given birth to in Jerusalem; the Apostles were the only ones who remained in Jerusalem.
But the whole Church went everywhere else preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, as a result of the persecution of the Church.
The persecution of the early Church brought growth into the Body of Christ, as the early Christians went everywhere else – preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, healing the sick and doing many more things in the name of Jesus.
In the midst of severe persecution, the name of Jesus became the stronghold and refuge for those who were being persecuted. The Church became victorious because of the faith of the believers in the name of Jesus.
The Bible described what happened as the persecution of the early Church began which enabled the spread of the gospel:
“Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles…
…Therefore, those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.”
Acts 8:1, 4 NKJV
Everyone went everywhere preaching the gospel in the name of Jesus. As they went, they were doing what Jesus directed them to do in Mark 16:17-18 (above).
None of them ever went to a Bible college to get some qualifications to become a preacher.
But once they got saved, they went about preaching, because they’d been transformed by the name of Jesus.
And that has not changed today also. To be a preacher all you need to do is to become a believer in the name of Jesus.
Believing in His name qualifies you to take His gospel to the end of the earth, just like the early disciples did at that time.
This explains why a six-year-old believer in Christ Jesus can preach today in getting multitudes saved.
It is faith in the name of Jesus alone that is able to save.
The scope of the power in His name.

The Apostle Paul highlighted the scope of power in our use of that name when he said:
“and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
Ephesians 1:19-23 NKJV
The name of Jesus means all things to the Body of Christ. Everything that we need within His Body is supplied in His name.
There is an “exceeding greatness” of God’s power, that has been made available to us in the name of Jesus. And that power is meant for every believer in His name.
All things had been put under the name of Jesus. Anything can happen anytime, anywhere, anyhow and whenever you call on the name of Jesus.
Paul said again to the Ephesians about the power of God working through us as believers in His name:
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
The name of Jesus “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”.
The Lord your God works through you as you call on the name of Jesus.
Be expectant at all times of anything, anytime, anyhow and anywhere as you call on that name. God will work wonders on your behalf as you call on the name of Jesus.
All that you need is to have faith in His name, to do what Jesus said He will do for you. He said:
““And in that day, you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
John 16:23-24 NKJV
What a joy to know that we can ask, whatever in His name and receive an answer from Him!
That is good news. We don’t have to worry about how and when He will do it. All we’ve got to do is to just believe Him for anything.
Begin to take Jesus literally for His Word to do whatever you ask for in prayer.
His name is not a “lucky charm”.

The problem with a lot of Church folks is that they like to use the name of Jesus like a “lucky charm”.
This is a terrible and horrible thing to do, because the name of Jesus has nothing to do with luck at all.
The truth is that “luck” is the core root of one of the names of the Devil – Lucifer.
And as far as we know, there is nothing good in Lucifer. He is as bad as his name is – Luck (Lucifer).
Believe in His name only.

The name of Jesus works out of a believing heart and not by luck or chance.
If you have faith in His name, you will start acting on it. You will start doing what you believe the name of Jesus will do for you.
Some other folks will say: ” Well, I tried that Jesus thing. It doesn’t work.”
It will not work because faith is a heart thing and faith doesn’t work by trying it. It works only by doing what the word of God says.
As the scriptures says:
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.”
James 1:22-24 NKJV
A person who is trying to use the name of Jesus so as to see if it will work for him, is a hearer of God’s word only. He doesn’t have faith in the name of Jesus to do anything for him.
He sees his personal situation in life being exposed before him, as he hears God’s word.
He knows that God’s word is pointing his situation out before him, but he cannot bring himself to accept the imagery of himself that’s being portrayed.
So, he forgets what the word says, because he doesn’t have faith in it to be the truth.
He is like the man sometimes ago, who asked me to join him in agreement for his relative to be healed.
After praying the prayer of agreement with him, he left me by saying that: “I guess we have to go now and prepare for his funeral.”
He doesn’t have faith for his relative to get healed. He was only trying if it will work for him.
He was expecting something spectacular but didn’t have faith in the name of Jesus to heal his relative.
He had faith in what the doctors had told him would happen, instead of believing in the promises of God for that relative to be healed.
Unfortunately, faith only works in a heart that believes in the name of Jesus and not for the person who’s trying it out.
The scriptures continue by saying:
“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
James 1:25 NKJV
A doer of the work of God’s word is blessed for doing the work, because he believes in it with his heart.
The name of Jesus works for him as he’s looking “into the perfect law of liberty and continues” meditating on it in his heart, until he receives what he believes with his heart.
Faith only works when you start acting on what you believe in Him for, as if it is a reality already.
You do not try His name out. But you do what God’s word says. Acting on the word of God keeps your faith alive.
The scripture says:
“So also, faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).”
James 2:17 AMPC
If you believe in the name of Jesus with your heart and not your head – it works. And it works always.
The Bible says again:
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.””
Romans 10:10-11 NKJV
You see the name of Jesus will not work for anyone, who will never get into the scriptures to get more acquainted with that name.
You have to be constantly working on the believing part of the name of Jesus, because the enemy does not want you to believe in His name.
He is the one making you think that you cannot get results by believing in the name of Jesus.

An interesting discussion is worth comment. I do think that you should write more about this issue, it might not be a taboo subject but generally folks don’t discuss such issues. To the next! Cheers!!
