From my discussion last week, we saw how dangerous it is for any believer in Christ; to be engaging in strife, gossips, idle talks and other things of these nature. They will hinder your ability to prosper with the blessing of the Lord. The anointing over your life, as a Minister of the gospel is not meant for anyone of these things.

With that being said, there are certain things that God may be revealing to you about people. And if you are not being careful to handle those things with utmost trust, you will be jeopardizing your own anointing and integrity before God. It is always good to keep quiet and never speak, until God gives you something to say. You will never miss it, when you speak only what God tells you.

But from my personal walk with the Lord I do know that, there are certain reasons why the Lord may need to entrust you, with certain things about other people. He doesn’t expect you to be gossiping, engaging in idle talks or careless jokes about those things. It will be dangerous for you to be doing anyone of these, especially if the revelation is specifically meant for you alone.

The Lord will often reveal certain things for you:

1. To learn not to make the same mistakes like the person, whose secrets are being revealed to you. He will often let you see the consequences of the individual’s mistakes, and warn you not to make the same mistakes, so as not to have the person’s sub sequential results.

2. To be in prayer and intercession for the person(s) involved. The Lord trusts you to pray and intercede on behalf of the weak. A good intercessor does not gossip or talk about the things or the peoples that (who) he is praying for.

3. To do something about the situation concerning the person(s). God knows you and trusts you, to do the right things in helping the person(s). He wants to pour Himself through your life. That’s how you can become God’s channel of blessing into other peoples’ lives. Your reward will be exceedingly great, for making yourself available to be used of God in this way. God will bless you greatly, because He knows that you can be trusted; to use what you had been blessed with, to be a blessing to others. That’s how the blessing in God’s Kingdom flows. The source of all blessing is God. You are blessed to be a blessing to others.

If the Lord can trust you with certain truth about others; that’s a signal for you to get yourself ready to be blessed. Some Christians are just too comfortable with making the mistake, of seeing strife and gossiping as small things. But unfortunately for them, these things are not small issues before God. He actually sees them as big sins.

You can’t afford to be darkening out your own candlelight, by darkening out other people’s candlelights. And that’s exactly what people are doing, when they are engaging in smear talks, gossips, idle talks and strife; about fellow Christians and other people of the world. It will come back to hurt them. You may be thinking that you are doing those things for fun; but you are actually darkening your own light of glory, when you are speaking all kinds of negative things, about fellow believers and others.

Remember that Jesus said:

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

Jesus made this statement in relation to an earlier one that was made, when He said:

“How ecstatic you can be when people insult and persecute you and speak all kinds of cruel lies about you because of your love for me! So leap for joy—since your heavenly reward is great. For you are being rejected the same way the prophets were before you.”
Matthew 5:11-12 TPT

When a Christian is engaging in smear talks, “cruel lies” and gossips; that believer in Christ is creating an atmosphere for strife, in his relationship with the person who is being talked about. You may be trying to come out hard on that believer with your mouth; but you are actually hiding your own candlelight under a bowl. You are darkening the Lord’s glory over your life.

On the other hand you are actually brightening the candlelight of the person, that you intensionally are speaking negatively about. That’s the point which Jesus was trying to bring out in Matthew 5:14-16. As long as the person chooses not to take it to heart, but rather counts it joy to be smeared or gossiped and lied about. Then his candlelight will get brighter and brighter, while the candlelight of the one who gossips gets darker and darker.

It is what can limit your blessing before the Lord. That’s why certain Christians are always struggling with financial prosperity. They are always short of funds to do what the Lord called them to do, as a direct consequence of their involvement with such things. Their mouth keeps getting them deeper into financial difficulties, that will never be resolved, until they repent and start taming their tongues.

That’s why Paul in his final admonition to the Philippians advised us:

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4:8-9 NIV

Peacemaker is who you are as a Christian. You were never created in Christ Jesus to be a troublemaker. But unfortunately many Christians just like to shoot themselves in the foot with their own mouths. The tongue is what lights up your candlelight, and the tongue can also darken your candlelight. Your tongue can set your heart on fire for God, and the same tongue can kill the fire of God in you. Be wise. Be careful and smarter. You need to be praying more in tongues, instead of allowing your tongue to darken the power of God to prosper you.

 

Your ability to be prosperous, makes you toxic to the Devil

 

The Devil is the one who really hates to see you prosperous. That’s why he is making it hard for you to tame your tongue. It is never in his nature to see you prosperous in anything at all. He hates to see you blessed, just because you carry the very nature of God inside of you.

But on the other hand you must be willing to acknowledge that:

The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
Proverbs 10:22 NKJV

When this spiritual truth becomes glued to the very nature of God in you; then there will be absolutely nothing, that the Devil can do to stop you, from the prosperity of the Lord. He will try to slow you down in the blessing, but he can’t stop you from laying your hands on it, as long as you’re persistently affirming this spiritual truth to yourself.

The Devil can’t stand before you, as long as you’re standing firm, on the promises of God to prosper you. God’s word to you is His guarantee that; He will do what He promised you.

But however you must never forget that, your tongue is the primary key into, either your prosperity or poverty. You can determine your financial prosperity with your mouth. You don’t need money to rule over your life; but you surely do need to tame your tongue, in speaking God’s promises to yourself all the time. This is how you can position yourself firmly and strongly in your blessing place of God.

God is not the One making people poor. No, God yearns to see you financially prosperous. It is when a Christian fails to continually keep to the promises of prosperity; through a lifestyle of devotion, in keeping the Lord in remembrance of His promises, that the enemy is able to succeed against such a believer. And your tongue is given to you by God, in helping you to do this effectively. Your tongue needs to be speaking, about these promises day and night (Joshua 1:8); if you are really a believer in the prosperity of the Lord.

Remember that it is in the same way, that you once opened your mouth, in making the faith confession to be saved, that your financial prosperity will also come to you.

The scripture says:

For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Romans 10:10 NIV

You will always have what you are saying or professing. Are you a professor in the prosperity of the Lord? Or are you in denial of it? If you do have so much time for engaging and encouraging gossips, smear talks and strife in your Church; then it means that is what you are actually doing most of the time. That is what you are professing. That’s exactly who you are.

It also reveals a lot about your prayer life as a Christian. It is surprising that some Christians do actually have the time, to be even engaging in things like these. You are not supposed to be associated with the people, who are doing such things. They are dangerous to you. They are toxic to your faith. Flee away from them, especially if they are unrepentant. You need to be separated from them, so that their evil works may be revealed for all to see (read John 3:20-21 and Ephesians 5:6-21).

The spiritual truth about speaking the blessing to yourself will transform your life, as you begin to use your faith to get into the depth of your wealth in Christ Jesus. This spiritual truth about the blessing does not apply to financial prosperity alone; but it’s applicable to everyone of God’s promises to you as His covenant child.

 

Take your lesson of faith from Israel

 

The Lord revealed to the Israelites in the wilderness, how the blessing works when He told them:

~‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and [obediently] do them, then I will give you rain in its season, and the land will yield her produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. ~‘And your threshing season will last until grape gathering and the grape gathering [time] will last until planting, and you will eat your bread and be filled and live securely in your land. ~‘I will also grant peace in the land, so that you may lie down and there will be no one to make you afraid. I will also eliminate harmful animals from the land, and no sword will pass through your land. ~‘And you will chase your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword. ~‘Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will put ten thousand to flight; your enemies will fall before you by the sword. ~‘For I will turn toward you [with favor and regard] and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish and confirm My covenant with you. ~‘You will eat the old supply of [abundant] produce, and clear out the old [to make room] for the new. ~‘I will make My dwelling among you, and My soul will not reject nor separate itself from you. ~‘I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people. ~‘I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so that you would not be their slaves; and I broke the bars of your yoke and made you walk upright [with heads held high as free men].”
LEVITICUS 26:3-13 AMP

If you will personalize these scriptures for yourself, and start keeping God in remembrance of these promises to you, as a covenant child of God, you will begin to see Him move in your life. That’s what God promised Israel, and as long as they did what He commanded them to do, God fulfilled His own part of the promise.

But how were they keeping God in remembrance of these promises, in doing their own part of it, so that God could begin to bless them? He later on showed them how to do this, when He directed them through Moses again to tell them:

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-9 NKJV

There is no other practical way for you to remember doing what God says, if you are not speaking about it to yourself and to God’s people around you. If you want your Church members to be wealthy and prosperous, then you need to be preaching about the blessing and prosperity. It is just the same thing that you need to be doing, in getting the sinners saved. You will have to preach the salvation messages to get them saved. If you are preaching healing, then people will have faith for healing also. Whatever you are believing God to do among His people, will always come out of your mouth. And God’s power will manifest to do what you are preaching.

Don’t ever let the Devil make you feel uncomfortable in preaching prosperity to God’s people. They need it just as much as you do. If you don’t want them to become poorer, you should be preaching the gospel of prosperity to them. If you don’t want them to be stingy, then you need to be teaching them to be givers, by being an example to them in giving yourself. When people see you getting blessed, as you are giving to others, they will start giving in your Church also. They need to see it work in your life first, before they will start believing it and doing it. It’s what they see you do that they will do also.

That’s what the Lord meant when He said above:

“‘You will eat the old supply of [abundant] produce, and clear out the old [to make room] for the new.” – LEVITICUS 26:10 AMP

Your ability to give to others and not be tight fisted, opens up your storehouse for more blessings from the Lord. You won’t have room to receive more, if you are not constantly clearing up your storehouse of the old harvest. That’s how people get prosperous. You plant the seeds from the old financial harvests (as an example) into other people’s lives, so as to reap more bountiful harvests. Stop eating the seeds from your last harvest in the old storehouse. Sow the seeds into other Christians’ lives. It will surely come back to you in a bigger harvest.

That’s how people become wealthy. That’s how you can continually be increasing the harvests that comes into your storehouse. Even business people will tell you that, a good business investment will always yield good profits. And that’s what you are doing, when you sow the seeds from your old harvests, into the lives of the Christians in your congregation, who do have the potentials to do great things for the Lord. You will be investing into their lives, instead of eating up those seeds. And the Lord will greatly reward you for it.

If it worked for the Jewish believers in the wilderness, it definitely will work in prospering you also. The scriptures works when you practice what it says. Be a doer of God’s word, and not just a professor of what it says.

Otherwise you will be opening the door for poverty into your midst. When you are speaking about the blessing to your family at home, then you are really keeping the Devil off your blessing place. Keep your house flowing with the abundant blessing of the Lord. Speak the blessing in your home, and God’s riches will start showing up in your house. Be a doer of God’s word also. Sow into other Christians’ lives, as you are declaring the blessing of the Lord.

Everyone of God’s promises to you, including the promise of prosperity, are to be on your heart. If you are keeping them at heart, you will definitely be talking about them. For out of the abundance of your heart, your mouth will always speak (Luke 6:45). And the more you are talking and preaching about it, the more God will reveal secret things to you about it, which you never knew before. He will start leading you into investments and other things, which are meant to be yielding you a great harvest. Wherever you thereafter will start sowing your seeds, as the Lord leads you; you shall start reaping a harvest.

For God delights in the prosperity of His servants (Psalms 35:27). God never called you to be a poor preacher. If there is prosperity in your heart, it will be coming out of your mouth; and you will be living a prosperous life.

God’s promises of prosperity are meant to be first in your heart, so that they may become eventually part of your lifestyle. You believed with your heart first, before you confessed with your mouth to be saved. The power to prosper in your life, works in the same way to save the sinners also. Use God’s power in you to prosper your home, Church and ministry.

You never felt saved in your senses and physical body, when you first believed and received Jesus into your life; but you knew that you were saved. Your salvation was guaranteed to you, based on what God’s word says about it. That’s how you started experiencing the reality of salvation in your life. You became a new creation in Christ Jesus. It is the same thing that you will have to do with every blessing of God. You don’t feel blessed, before you believed with your heart that you are blessed. But in reality what you confessed with your mouth before the Lord, is who you really are – blessed and highly favored of God.

Pressing into your blessing place will require your proactive faith

 

God never told the Israelites while in the wilderness, that He was going to bless them; without giving them guidelines into the blessing. And as long as they were doing, what they were commanded to be doing in the guidelines, they prospered by doing those things.

While in the wilderness their lack of faith in the promised blessing, was their only hindrance into it. As long as the Israelites were faithful to God they prospered. But whenever they tried to live like their neighbors, they started getting themselves into troubles.

The same situation is what certain Christians are experiencing today. Whenever they are trying to live like the ungodly people around them, they keep getting themselves into the troubles and struggles of the world. But God’s way of blessing His people has never changed. The problem with them is that, they are making the same mistake, which the Israelites made in the wilderness.

These Christians are thinking about the blessing of the Lord, like the people of the world around them are thinking about it. They are not digging into God’s word enough. Many are limiting themselves in the blessing, by letting their faith operate in the understanding of the world for it. So they are unable to tap into the wealth of the riches, which God had given to them through His word.

Others are waiting for the Preacher to mention it to them first, before they will start believing in it. No, the scriptures talks about it several times. Get into your Bible and start discovering what belongs to you in it. When you begin to do this by yourself, the faith to take and receive it will come to you.

God’s word will always work for whosoever will dare to believe it. You don’t need a Preacher’s approval before you believe God’s Holy Bible. That’s God’s voice directly speaking to you. Start studying it to discover your hidden riches in Christ Jesus.

You don’t need to be praying for ever either about your prosperity. Just step out in faith and take what belongs to you. Obey God and start doing what He tells you to do. Stop limiting yourself to the same standard and quality of life, that the people around you are living. The God working in your life, is able to do far more than, what you are seeing in those ungodly people. Do you see yourself prosperous or poor? How do you want them to believe what you are preaching? Your lifestyle may be preaching a louder message of poverty to them, than what your spoken words are expressing to them.

Prosperity is not going to come to you, without you doing something about it. You can confess what you believe. And that’s good. But if you are not ready to start doing what you do know that, God is telling you to be doing. Then forget about it. You will never get what He promised you.

You must acknowledge that God’s promise of prosperity is first spiritual, before it becomes manifested in your life. You are a spiritual being, even though you are living in a physical and natural world, that is not sensitive to that spiritual world. It is by keeping the Lord in remembrance of his promises, that you are able to make the spiritual promises manifest into your physical world.

God will do it. He will begin to reveal what you need to do to you, as long as you are keeping those promises before Him as a remembrance. He will begin to open your heart, into understanding His plan for your prosperity (Jeremiah 29:11-13). That’s how He will reveal the actions, that He expects you to be taking; in order for you to back up His words with the necessary corresponding actions.

And as Mary once said:

…“Whatever He says to you, do it. ”
John 2:5b NKJV

Always remember that:

Not one promise from God is empty of power, for nothing is impossible with God!
Luke 1:37 TPT

You are prosperous and you are blessed. That’s the way God sees you. Begin to live in the reality of who you are, as a blessed child of God.
