You’d probably heard the Jews in conversations before, when they do show preference for the use of code names in referring to God; instead of His personal or divine names. “The Blessed One” happens to be their most commonly used code name for God. This code name later became popular within the early Church, as Christians started using it also in referring to Jesus Christ (see Romans 9:5).
During the trial of Jesus the scriptures showed us an instance when the high priest, used this code name while questioning Him. Certain Torah or Bible translations uses this code name in other forms like – Blessed, the Blessed, Most Blessed and so on. But they all are basically referring to God, the Father.
The scripture says during the trial of Jesus:
“But he (Jesus) stayed quiet, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed?””

Jesus was asked if He was “the Son of the Blessed”. From the response of Jesus we can see that He knew, who was being referred to as “the Blessed”. Jesus was well aware of this form of conversation, with the use of this code name during His time on the earth.
In answering the high priest, Jesus (Yeshua) responded :
“Yeshua said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.””

We need to pay particular attention to the use of this code name, as it identifies God as the source of all blessings. God is the “Blessed One” from whom all blessings flows. The use of this code name suggests that, the Jewish people do recognize God mainly through, what He does in their daily lives. They can see God’s hand in blessing them eternally, and they are eternally grateful to Him for it.
The blessing of the Lord is not what some people are used to saying, when they see or hear someone sneezing. It is bigger and far more powerful than that. Neither sneezing nor coughing has anything to do with the blessing of the Blessed One. Yet, people are so used to saying – “God bless you”; whenever someone coughs or sneezes. God is not the one making people to cough or sneeze. That’s what dead religion does through the Devil.
The Blessing is always on target
The blessing of the Lord is always released by faith on purpose, and with a set target to establish what it is being sent on purpose to achieve, in the life of the person who receives it. This is how the receiver of the blessing positions himself, to purposefully prosper in it.
As an example when Jesus blessed the children who were brought to Him, He did it on purpose and with the target of breaking the generational curse over Israel at the time. John the Baptist had come with the blessing message (Luke 3:10-14), to turn the hearts of the children back to their parents’, and the hearts of the parents back to the children in breaking the curse over Israel (Malachi 4:2-4).
These parents had received the blessing of John the Baptist. Their hearts had been turned back to their children’s for the blessing of the Messiah. And they really wanted the children to prosper with these blessings. That was why they brought these children to Jesus. Jesus knew exactly what was going on. By blessing the children, Jesus was putting a seal of approval on the ministry of John, the Baptist.
His disciples were trying to hinder the children from being blessed. They were yet to understand what was happening. Jesus then acted on purpose to declare the blessing of the gospel for salvation, over the generation of these children.
The scriptures says:
“People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”
Mark 10:13-16 NIV
Notice that Jesus spoke the blessing before placing hands on the children, in order to put a seal of approval on the foundation, that was already laid by John.
Sin will stop your blessing from flowing
Long before Jesus was born, Adam and Eve had received the blessings of God, through spoken words into their lives. They were both blessed and destined for prosperity (Genesis 1:28). We can see from the scriptures that they were blessed by the same power of God, which created the heavens and the earth. The spoken words of the Blessed One (God Almighty) created all things. Without God’s spoken words, no material thing was ever created. God will have to speak words into your heart first; before you are inspired by those words into receiving any vision for creativity.
Ideas for creative things comes first with words to your heart. And it doesn’t really matter if you are a believer in God or not. God speaks always directly into the hearts of every human being. His created beings may try to hide from Him; but His presence will never leave them (Romans 1:18-23).
God’s presence comes to you through His spoken word into your heart. Those words comes from God to you, in formulating your concepts for created things. Your personal ideas or opinions can not formulate these concepts. You are able to create things like God, because of His blessing and His presence in your life. God’s presence will always guide you in creating things with words, which you received from Him.
Every idea to create comes from Him. He blesses you with the wisdom from His words; as He whispers into your heart. When you received those words, understanding comes to you into doing, what He’s guiding you to do. And that’s the primary way by which God leads you.
Your opinion doesn’t matter in the blessing
Jesus once said according to the Passion Translations:
“Open your heart and consider my words. Watch out that you do not mistake your opinions for revelation-light!”

Some people are often misguided into taking their own personal opinions, feelings or understandings for the blessing of the Lord. And that’s wrong because as Jesus said here, God will always give you His revelation light into the blessing.
As an example God cannot give you an increase over your sowed seed, without the declaration of His blessing over that seed. Increase comes as you receive His revelation light for it. It doesn’t come when you got the physical manifestation of the harvest. But it comes to you at the moment that His revelation about it is received by you.
That’s why it’s so important for you to be making the declarations of the blessing, over your financial seeds as you are sowing them. It is as you’re making those faith based declarations, that God’s revelation light will begin to direct you, into your fruitful place in reaping the harvest.
When you are not being faithful in making the faith declarations of the blessing; then you are signaling that you are not really expecting any harvest at all. It will definitely not come. Your heart must believe and receive it first, before you are able to declare it with your mouth.
When Adam was created he was empowered to be fruitful, increase and multiply with the words that God spoke into his life.
The scriptures says:
“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.””
Genesis 1:28 NKJV
The blessing was declared in words over the lives of the first man and woman that God created. Adam and Eve were the initial seeds of God’s blessing on the earth. They were given the power to perpetuate, and multiply the blessing in replenishing the earth.
The words of the Blessed One gave them the power into creativity, so as to be fruitful, to increase and to multiply in the garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were both full of the glory and power of God. But when they sinned, they lost that glory and the blessing with it. The presence of sin in them, opened the door for the curse to come to all men.
The glory was God’s ability in Adam and Eve to perpetuate and multiply the blessing. Without the glory of God the first humans, could not use the blessing of the Lord in them to prosper themselves. The same thing goes for us as believers in Christ today. That glory of God is in you today as a believer in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:27&28). Without God’s glory the blessing was of no use to Adam and Eve.
When they sinned and lost the glory of God, Adam and Eve then discovered that they were weak. The consciousness of sin in them opened their eyes to see that, they were naked for the first time. When God’s glory was no more covering them as a result of sin, they decided to cover themselves with fig leaves, in order to hid their exposure to sin before God.
Their attempt to cover up themselves with the fig leaves, was not enough to give them access back into the blessing, and also back into fellowship with the Blessed One. God had to cover their nakedness with an animal skin, until Christ came to restore us back to glory with God.
And that’s the situation in which the unsaved world is still struggling with today. It has never changed. When people are not being straight forward with God, about their sinful situations in true repentance; they are actually covering up their nakedness with the hand of the flesh, or with the “fig leaves” just as Adam and Eve did. It will not last long before they are exposed to sin again.
Leaves will always dry up and loose its freshness. God had to replace the leaves with the skin of a slaughtered animal. The blood and skin of the animal to cover the sinful skin of the fallen man.
All of man’s made programs don’t have the faith of God in them
The same thing that Adam and Eve did in making the fig leaves clothing for themselves, has become a norm for certain believers in Christ today; who are allowing Satan to mislead them into missing out of their blessings. This they do whenever they deliberately chooses to trust, in the hands of human beings or governments for help; instead of trusting in God.
Every social programs or systems in any country of the world today, has its root from the downfall of Adam and Eve into sin. The world’s social systems are all attempts by sinful humanity, to cover their nakedness with the fig leaves, just as the first humans did when they sinned. These social systems and programs are all derived from the sinful nature of the fallen man, to trust in himself rather than in God.
It is this sinful nature in man that has created socialism, health care programs, all social programs and every other things that are related to them. But God’s plan for us into His prosperity is through His word, and not through these social programs and systems of the world.
It is when men had failed in their pursuit of God, because of their lack of faith; that they do often start seeking their own alternatives or solutions without God. But everyone of them are destined to fail.
John wrote:
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15-17 NIV
This nature of sin has become so powerful on earth today, because the evil one (Satan) who caused the first man to sin, is still working very hard at his deceptions of mankind. Every social programs or systems on earth today, are all attempts by mankind to meet his own needs without faith in God. And since God (the Blessed One) is not in any one of those systems and programs, that’s why they are all failing. All you just need to do is look around the world today. Mankind does not have the ability to do what God alone does, in blessing His created world.
You were created by God in this world, to use your faith on purpose in the blessing, to prosper yourself and be fruitful, increase and multiply on the earth. Don’t ever make the mistake of putting your faith in anyone of man’s attempts to meet your needs without God. They will all fail you.
Every attempts to trust in man’s made systems or programs to supply your needs in life, will only lead you into toiling for a living. And toiling or working hard for a living, instead of trusting in God is what brings poverty into peoples’ lives. Those programs and other world’s systems are engineered to prevent you from trusting in God. Your faith in God will give you what the government can never give to you.
Remember that:
“The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”
Proverbs 10:22 NIV
And there is no blessing at all in toiling to survive for a living. It is the curse that makes people to do this. God’s will for you is your prosperity with the blessing. Sweating yourself out to make a living will never lead you to enjoy the blessing of the Lord. God wants you to enjoy life with His blessing. So stop toiling for a living. Stop working as if you are a slave to your job, business, or people.
As a believer in Christ Jesus you are smart and good at your work or business. You are not lazy. You know that! But you don’t ever let the enemy push you to the extent of toiling for a living, because that’s when faith in your blessing is turned into a curse.
Remember that Adam was toiling for a living, after loosing the glory of the Blessed One in his life. Sin against God’s command to him and the woman, opened the door for toiling in their lives.
The scriptures says about him:
“Then to Adam He (God) said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.””
Genesis 3:17-19 NKJV
Adam was blessed in the garden of Eden. But when he lost the presence of God due to sin in his blessed place; that was when all humanity began to know what it meant, to be toiling and sweating to make a living. Blessed people don’t sweat or toil. And that’s who you are – blessed of God.
Start enjoying your blessing as you prosper with it today. Slow down and start learning to practice the presence of God in your life, instead of practicing the presence of this evil and corrupt world. God’s presence will lead you to your blessing place. That’s what all your time and energy should be focused on – the pursuit of God’s presence.
Rest in the Lord as you put your faith in Him, and not in the man’s made systems of this sinful world. The world’s systems are engineered by Satan to manipulate your life, and cause you to sin against God. That was what Satan did to Adam and Eve. And he has never stopped in anyone of his tactics.
You are never immured from falling into temptations. But by practicing the presence of God as a lifestyle, you will be able take Satan far away from you. Choose to trust in God today. You will be glad that you do.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.”
