There are many Christians today who are finding healing and good health, by spending their time to meditate on God’s promises for healing every day.
They have found healing, good health and peace at heart by spending more time in God’s word, rather than with the television screens or on the internet.
Healing and good health has come to them, as they’ve made the decision to seek the Lord for answers in His word, instead of following after the trends of the world, concerning the sicknesses and diseases that has afflicted them.
While people are dying around them every day from the very same sicknesses that had afflicted them, the Lord had been affirming His word to them with signs and wonders following, while healing them and restoring their health.
God’s word does not only guarantee our protection from sicknesses and diseases. His word also gives us the healing and good health that the body needs. God’s word is the primary source for the healing of the human body.
So therefore, if you’re seriously in need of healing right now, you will need to begin looking at His word for your healing to manifest.
It’s good to listen to scripturally based teachings and preachings about healing. They will encourage you in taking charge of your healing and health.
But doing so can’t be compared with your ability, to seek the face of the Lord for your healing by yourself through His word. Healing will come to you, as you release your faith to believe and act on God’s word.
There are several ways by which healing can come to us as God’s children. But it’s only by taking the personal responsibility of faith to act on God’s word, that healing has been proven to be better sustainable and long lasting.
Christians with the personal responsibility of faith are able to protect themselves, from the enemy’s onslaught to afflict them with sicknesses, for as long as their faith is alive and active, on the basis of God’s promises to them in the scriptures.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit will heal the sick also. This however does not require a lot of effort from the sick person, unlike the action of faith that works with personal responsibility.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit heals the sick, but it’s not many who are strong in faith enough to hold on, to what they have received from the Lord in this manner.
That’s why oftentimes people who had been healed by the anointing of the Spirit of God, keeps coming back to be healed of the same ailment, or something else that the enemy has afflicted them with.
Obviously, they have not been taught about how to hold on to what they have received from the Lord. Or in certain cases that I do know of, they have not been doers of what they had been taught about healing.
Anything that God tells us to do is always supernatural. And whenever we are acting in obedience to Him, we will see Him manifesting Himself on our behalf.
This includes the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the laying on of hands for the healing of the sick body; and through every other act of obedience before Him and to His word.
The scriptures say:
“Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven”.
James 5:14-15 NLT
It’s important to note here that it’s not the anointing oil that heals the sick. The application of the anointing oil by the elders of the church separates the sick person away from the sins that are committed. The anointing oil is for the consecration of the sick person to the Lord.
After being anointed with the oil, he is as Jesus once said: to “go and sin no more.” (John 8:11 NKJV)
It is actually the prayer of faith by the elders that heals the sick. The elders can use their own faith to get the sick healed, but it’s not the responsibility of the elders to help the healed person to hold on to his healing.
The prayer of faith by the elders of the church does not only work when sin is involved. As I have seen on several occasions, it will work for the member of the church who has not committed any sin also.
However, in both instances the elders of the church can say a prayer of faith to heal the sick, but it is still the responsibility of the healed person to stay away from sin, while living righteously before God by faith.
The prayer of faith by the elders cannot stop him from sinning. He has to make the decision by himself to stay away from sin and to start living by faith, so as to stay healed and get healthy.
Even though the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the prayer of faith by the elders or the laying on of hands of the believers in Christ Jesus can heal the sick (Mark 16:18).
But there will eventually come a time when the healed person has to start using his faith to stay healed and healthy. A lot of Christians are not being taught in their local Churches, about how to hold on to their healing.
The healing Evangelist or Preacher may come to town, and many people gets saved and healed.
But it’s important for the Bible teachers and the local Pastors to keep riding on that wave of the healing anointing within their congregations, so that those who are healed can be scripturally discipled about holding on to their healing.
It’s not all the time that Christians are supposed to be dependent on others to pray for their healing. God expects every Christian to grow up spiritually into understanding His ways of doing things in the Kingdom.
No Christian should ever be a spiritual baby forever. When the time comes for you to grow up, by using your faith in Him for your healing or anything else, you will know for sure that you need to be putting more action to your faith.
You do this by declaring what the Bible says about every situation that you’re being confronted with. Just as God’s word brings healing to your body, His word also has the answer to every need in your life.
This is not the moment for you to be slothful before the Lord in taking hold of your healing. The Lord expects much more from you with your faith through your daily confessions.
It’s not the confessions that you’re making in Church that He is concerned about. It’s your everyday confessions outside of the Church, when no one else from the Church is there with you, that matters most in keeping what you have received from the Lord.
Neither God nor the local Pastor have to be babysitting any Christian forever. When it’s time for you to grow up, you’d better be ready to keep on moving by faith in His presence.
He is taking you to a higher level of living and walking by faith before Him. God doesn’t want you to be a baby Christian forever. His expectation from all Christians is:
“That we should no longer be children, tossed to and from and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ”.
Ephesians 4:14-15 NKJV
There are those Christians however who are seeking the easiest way for their healing to come. They are not really interested about growing up in the things of God at all. They just want to be spiritual babies forever in God’s Kingdom.
They are in most instances thinking of just going to heaven one day, as a relief from their ailments in this world.
The only problem with them is that their faith is dependent on other Christians, who are able to stand in agreement with them.
And it’s true that the prayer of agreement will heal the sick also (see Matthew 18:19-20). God’s word will work when two or three believers in Christ are standing together in agreement for healing.
This is however not the very best means of getting healed, because you will not always have others to stand in agreement with you. There will come a time when you have to learn how to stand up for your own healing by yourself.
God expects us to grow up in our faith before Him by exercising it to heal our bodies. And if you’re not prepared to develop your faith, after you have received your healing through the help of others, then you may end up being in a situation, that may be unpleasant to you with your health.
Faith in God’s word is important for sustaining the healing of the body, even after you might have been healed by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Whenever the anointing of the Holy Spirit moves to heal the sick, that’s God through His own mercy, compassion and faith healing the sick.
This is the nature of God. He heals us and does several things for us in His own ways, which are sometimes difficult for us to understand. God can and will do anything, anyhow, anywhere for anyone by His mercy, compassion and faith.
We can never do anything to qualify for getting healed in this way. But your faith requires your corresponding action in God’s word, to do exactly what it says He will do in healing your body and making you healthy.
The people who are getting healed by acting on God’s word with a personal responsibility, do however have the ability in them to hold on firmly to it.
They are stronger in their faith and in their resistance against the enemy. They are able to fight the good fight of faith, so as to hold on to what they have received from the Lord.
Being able to stand on your own by faith for your healing, will make you a stronger, more effective and better Christian.
Live a strong lifestyle of faith for healing.
A man who releases his faith to get what he wants from the Lord, has great potentials in him to grow up by continually exercising it. To be found faithful with your faith, you will have to be using it daily by doing exploits with it.
And God wants you to become faithful to Him. This is how you can live by faith every day, until the Lord finds you faithful in whatever you’re doing.
Sicknesses and diseases are being used by the devil to bring destruction to many lives every day. But those who do know their God are doing exploits with their faith in His word to help others, by bringing healing and deliverance to them.
As Christians we can see our redemption and salvation from the destructions of the enemy, in the provision of healing and deliverance by the stripes of Jesus Christ.
God expects us not to be focused on what the enemy is doing around us. We are to hold on to the good confession of our faith, in the provision for healing by the stripes of Jesus Christ.
Our faithfulness to the Lord by declaring healing and deliverance, gives us security and protection from the destructions of the enemy. The righteous man shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4).
And the way to do this is by being faithful in holding on to our confession of faith for healing and good health.
The woman with the issue of blood demonstrated her faith in Jesus with a personal responsibility. She never waited for Jesus to come to her, but her faith spoke with a personal responsibility to get healed from within herself:
“For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.”
Matthew 9:21 NKJV
She was healed as she did what she said she was going to do. She had touched the prayer shawl that was on Jesus. Her faith spoke what she needed to do to be healed, as she did so.
As she spoke continually within herself, she was placing a demand on the power of God to work for her. It’s our spoken words that releases our faith, in what we believe with our hearts. This is what attracts the power of God towards us.
As He has said:
“I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings”.
Jeremiah 17:10 NKJV
By the time she (the woman who had the issue of blood) had received her miracle, Jesus could not do anything more for her, but to declare her as being whole and healthy in her body:
“Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, “Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well”. And at once the woman was restored to health”.

It was one thing for her to have acted with a sense of personal responsibility to get herself healed, but it’s another thing for God to respond to the demonstration of her faith, by giving her more than what she wanted.
This woman got more than what she wanted from the Lord, because her faith was based on her own personal responsibility to live righteously before God.
There are many people who do have the faith that waits. They are waiting for their Pastors or Elders to come and pray for them to be healed.
They are relying on the faith of others to be activated for their healing. They are waiting for someone to come and do something for them, so as to be healed.
And in many instances, they don’t want to even listen to the word of God being taught or preached about healing. Yet they want to be healed.
However, God’s word must be heard first before you can believe in it, so as to be able to confess it for the healing of the body.
Your faith in His word is what will heal you. It’s always better for you to have faith in God’s word to heal you, instead of waiting for some other supernatural move of God for healing.
That’s why some people don’t ever get healed, because the Lord requires them to use their faith to be healed, instead of relying on the faith of others. It’s time to grow up and to stop living like a baby Christian.
You do have the personal responsibility of making God’s word to work for you. When God’s word had already been declared that you had been healed; that means your healing is no longer dependent on God, but on you alone.
As long as God is concerned your healing is a done deal. The Lord has nothing to do with it anymore. Jesus took the stripes on His body already for your healing. It had already been accomplished. The only thing that remains is for you to start affirming it with your mouth.
Your confession of faith for healing is where your shield and protection are guaranteed from the sicknesses and diseases of this world.
If you’re joining the world in confessing what they are saying about the sickness that you’re struggling with, then you will get the same result that they are getting with their own confessions.
What they are terribly afraid of is coming upon them. And your faith can’t be effective, when the fear of getting the outcome of the world is dominant in your heart.
The only way that the enemy can defeat you, is by tricking you and deceiving you to relent in your good confession of faith before God.
The Lord has called us into a lifestyle of faithfulness before Him. That’s what is able to help you in sustaining your healing and good health.
Live by your faith in God and keep on confessing your healing and good health daily. This is how you can be sustained, as you are holding on to your healing and deliverance.
This is also how you are able to resist the devil, and you can finally silence him in his aggressive tactics towards you for your destruction.
You are healed in Jesus’ name, because God’s word says so.
It does not matter what the enemy is telling you right now. Hold on to your good confession of faith until your healing manifests.
And keep on walking in it – healed and made whole by the word of God.
