An Eagle makes a decision to live and not die..

The Bible tells us about getting wisdom that:

“Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, Waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord; But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:34-36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus is the door (or gates) into the divine wisdom (John 10:9). Without accepting Him as Lord and Savior there is no access into the supernatural wisdom of God. Those who are daily paying careful attention to the words of Jesus are seated in the gates, that leads into the wisdom of God. They are the ones who are highly favored by the Lord God.

And as this scripture text clearly states they do have to be exercising a lot of patience, by waiting at “the posts of His doors” into God’s wisdom. Waiting with patience is expressed here as a character trait in a wise man. He waits patiently at the feet of Jesus, until he finds wisdom. A wise man in this way learns directly from the feet of Jesus, without running helter-skelter like the ungodly and wicked people of this world, so as to be making changes for the prosperity of his soul.

However, wisdom is far from the mouth of the wicked. He hates it so much to the extent that he will rather die, than for him to be embracing the wisdom of God.

But if only he knows how to get access into the grace of God, he can be able to discover true repentance, and accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of his life. Thereafter he will be able to start learning how to tap into God’s wisdom also. There is room available to all men at the feet of Jesus, to be able to walk in God’s wisdom and escape the eternal damnation of hell.

Wisdom is available to those who are seeking it daily out of a sincere heart. But unfortunately, it’s not everyone who is seeking godly wisdom that’s actually getting it. And the main reason they are not getting wise, as this scripture text says is because they can’t wait for it. They want a quick fix for their problems, but that quick fix is not God’s best for their lives.

Just because someone is saved doesn’t mean that he is wise. Godly wisdom is accessed by making daily changes in our Christian lives.

A Christian who is not making changes in the right directions towards eternity with God, will never find His favor. It’s those daily changes which we are making in our lives as Christians, that allows God to work in us and through us, so as to bring us into His perfect plans and purposes for our individual lives.

A Christian finds God’s favor by making changes in turning away completely from his old sinful life, so as to be delivered from it. Anyone who is not making positive changes in his or her life after getting saved, can’t grow up spiritually.

The absence of the desire to be making changes in such a life, deprives that precious soul of God’s very best in life. He may be able to get certain things done in this life; but those things are not the very best that God has for him in life.

Do you know that when an eagle mounts up to the mountain top for the renewal of its strength, it’s making a wise decision for changes in its own life. The eagle refuses to die; but to live as it makes that decision, which gives it favor before the Creator.

An eagle knows how to tap into the wisdom of God, but the wicked man despises that same wisdom of God. The favor of God gives the great eagle access into its full potentials for life, with the change that it has made.

If God can favor the bird of the air by giving it long life on the earth, one can only imagine what He will be able do for men, who were created in His own image for dominion on this earth.

A Christian who is longing for the best things in life needs to be making the right changes in his life, which will move the heart of God to help him in becoming more productive.

No Christian ought to be clinging on to the dead old lifestyle of evil and sin, from which he had already been delivered, and still expects God to favor him. It’s like a dog that is still going back to eat what it had vomited (Proverbs 26:11).

Such a Christian needs a sincere desire heart with boldness to throw away the old lifestyle of sin, if he truly wants God to help him (Isaiah 30:22).

It’s impossible for a Christian to be living in harmony with evil and sin all around, while seeking the Lord in prayer for help in getting out of it. The Bible never says that Christians should pray for God’s help to come out of evil and sinful life’s patterns. It says:

“Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭6:17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Whatever is unclean is evil and unholy. It’s not acceptable to the Lord God. The scripture clearly states here that it’s the responsibility of the Christian to come out of the sinful lifestyle.

If you are living like the world, you are surely of the world and not of God. The sinful lifestyle pattern that you are living in the world, is telling the true story of who you are.

There has to be a genuine desire in the life of the believer in Christ, to break away from the sinful lifestyle pattern. Being separated from such things must be followed up with a quality decision, and a positive action in the right direction, so as to let it go away completely from his life.

No one can make such decision and changes for anyone. God can’t even go against the will of anyone on this earth, so as to help them in breaking away from their own bad habits. It’s a quality decision which must come with personal responsibility.

Darkness can’t live and walk together with the light of God in us as Christians. A Christian, who is in the light, does not need to be living and walking in the darkness of this world at the same time.

There are Christians who are living and walking in both worlds. This is why they are not progressing in their spiritual lives, because of this their double dealings with both the world and the people of God.

Changes in the life of a Christian is very important. If a Christian is rejecting changes in his own personal life, then Christianity as a way of life will become very hard for such a person to be living.

A real decision for change brings transformation

Positive changes in the right direction will transform you

The Lord God once asked Job towards the end of his spiritual trial or encounter:

“Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make its nest on high? On the rock it dwells and resides, On the crag of the rock and the stronghold. From there it spies out the prey; Its eyes observe from afar. Its young ones suck up blood; And where the slain are, there it is.”

Job 39:27-30 NKJV

An eagle that desires a change in the manner by which it’s soaring in the air and hunting for its preys, mounts up to the highest part of the mountain. It does this because, it wants to be more effective in doing the things that it likes to do.

It does not need to take some advice from anyone before making that decision. Neither does it have to rely on the weather conditions or the activities of other birds and animals, before it goes out to hunt for its preys.

An eagle eats wherever it wants to eat. It does whatever it wants to do. By faith in its own endowed abilities from the Creator, it is able to do such things. It does them without seeking the opinions of men.

But when the time comes for it to renew its strength, the great bird has to make a quality decision of its own, so as to be able to do so.

Such a quality decision gives it the access into the wisdom that it needs, so as to be able to do more than it had been doing before. This is the moment of change for the eagle.

There are therefore lessons that can be learnt from the lifestyle of an eagle for us as Christians, as it waits to renew its strength on the mountain top.

An eagle waits persistently on the mountain top without allowing the distractions of its world, to prevent it from waiting. It waits for the new changes in its body, to bring the transformation which is desired to become manifested.

An eagle is not in a hurry at all for anything. It has to wait for the change to be completed in transforming its life. Nights and days will come and go away, but all it does is to wait. And this is wisdom for us. It waits for the cycle of healing and restoration to be completed in its body. It knows that its strength will finally be renewed and restored. And that is why it has to wait.

And eventually the transformation ushers in a new era of soaring and other activities for the eagle. A change had to begin for the transformation in its life to be completed.

The moment an eagle mounts up the mountain top with that desire for a change, it obtains the favor of the Creator who sees that action with its faith.

This is the moment when the Creator steps in to help the eagle in achieving its objectives. As the eagle enlists the favor of its Creator, it knows that it will soon begin to live its ultimate dream in the air.

The purpose for waiting in seclusion is for the eagle to renew and restore its fading strength. The eagle needs a new beak, a new set of claws for its feet, new feathers for the wings and many other things, that are meant to make it the most skilled hunter among all the birds in the air.

And when it finally reemerges from its hiding place with the totally transformed body, there is dread about what it is capable of doing, with its new strength on the other birds and animals. They are put on the edge, as they don’t know what to expect from it.

John in his revelation about the end of the age was shown an angel of the Lord, flying in the midair across the earth in the form of an eagle, with the judgement of the Lord on the wicked about to come upon the earth.

The scripture says:

“Then I looked, and I heard a single eagle crying loudly as it flew through the air, “Terror, terror, terror to all who belong to this world because of what will happen when the last three angels blow their trumpets.”

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This image of an angel in the air flying like an eagle is a vivid picture about how terrified the other birds and animals are, as they see the great eagle re-emerging into their world. This is a reminder to us in preparing ourselves as the people of God for the day of the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:2).

The other birds and animals in the wilderness do know that judgement will come, with the renewed strength of the great eagle in the midair upon the wicked among them. The wicked might have been thinking that they can escape the judgement of the great eagle. But they are dead wrong.

The wicked in the wilderness had said within themselves, as the Apostle Peter once said to those who were acting with indifference to the second coming of the Lord:

“They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created.”

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s a serious mistake to ignore the warning of the second coming of the Lord. It’s just as it is serious and dangerous for the birds and the animals in the wilderness, when they see the great old eagle soaring again in the air; but they are being ignorant about it.

Don’t make the mistake that the wicked are making. Remember the very words of the Master Jesus when He said:

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Yes, He will be back, and all men will see Him, just as all the other birds and animals will notice the re-emergence of the great old eagle in the air from its hiding place.

But when that time comes:

“The iniquities done by a wicked man will trap him, and he will be held with the cords of his sin. He will die for lack of instruction (discipline), And in the greatness of his foolishness he will go astray and be lost.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The wicked had thought that there will be no end to his wickedness. He thinks that he can escape the coming judgement of the Lord on his wickedness. However, the wicked will eventually perish for rejecting to be instructed and trained in the way of the Lord, so as to be well disciplined and ready for the return of the Lord.

His end will be like that of the five foolish virgins in the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), who had forgotten to take the extra oil for their lamps. And when the bridegroom finally showed up unexpectedly, they had found themselves being locked outside of His great wedding banquet.

The image of an eagle as the servant of the Lord in judging wickedness, is amazing and should never be underestimated in the scriptures. We do know that the eagle is the chief predator among all the birds in the air. It hunts for its preys in a way that makes other animals to be fearful of it.

This is why the image of an angel of the Lord coming in the strength of an eagle in the air (Revelation 8:13), to inflict the judgement of the Lord on the wicked, will create a dreadful fear in them, when they will eventually see it. They will be filled with terror just as the birds and other animals are dreadful of an eagle, with its reappearance from the mountain top, after a long time of absence.

Be ready! Jesus is coming back for His own

All eyes will see Him coming in the clouds, coming like a thief in the night

The waiting in seclusion by the eagle protects it from the other animals and birds. In the same manner as the ascension of Jesus back to the Father, is meant to protect our faith in Him and in His promises.

The Lord God is protecting our faith in the promise of His return, by not letting us know when exactly He will be back for us. Like the great eagle that is in seclusion, our God is preparing His Son for His beautiful Bride.

In this same manner our waiting on the Lord is meant to be making us dangerous to the enemy. The devil is fearful of us, because he knows that we are not only with the presence of the Lord; but that His presence has really transformed us on the earth as we are waiting. There is nothing that he throws at you that you can’t overcome. He knows that he is a defeated foe forever.

Your faith in the return of the Lord is always a reminder to the devil, that the end is nearer than ever before for him (Revelation 12:12).

Therefore, he will always flee whenever he sees you, because he knows that you have been with God. He knows that you do know what the end will be for him. And he hates to be reminded about it. That’s why he fears you.

Therefore:

“Woe (judgment is coming) to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe (judgment is coming) to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever and shrewd in their own sight! Who justify the wicked and acquit the guilty for a bribe and take away the rights of those who are in the right!”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭5:20-21, 23‬ ‭AMP‬‬

MARANATHA – The Lord is coming back again. All men will see Him in the air when He comes. How prepared are you to meet Him in the air?
