Your future is in your seeds. What are you sowing?

Everything in the Kingdom of God is seed based. You can’t receive anything from God without sowing a seed. Now a seed may be in the form of words spoken by you into the spiritual realm. And it can also be in the form of money or other things on this earth, that you are sowing to bring spiritual truth into manifesting physical things and prosperity on the earth. That’s how the believer in Christ is empowered to prosper with the blessing, as he cultivates the habit of sowing seeds on the earth as a way of life.

This is why it’s important to come before the Lord without any focus on needs or on the seeds. Our focus needs to be on worshipping Him alone, even though He expects us to come before Him with seeds. He already knows about our needs before we come to Him in worship. So don’t worry about your needs in His presence. He wants to see our seeds, so as to be able to meet those needs.

The Bible warned us about this when it says:

“As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God. Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. Too much activity gives you restless dreams; too many words make you a fool.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The enemy uses the fear of a need ever being met, to cripple the faith of many as they are sowing words before God so as to reap a harvest. They end up sowing their needs “mindlessly” before the Lord; instead of sowing seeds by faith. They end up sowing their needs by uttering vain seed words about those needs before God. That’s why they are having countless restless dreams which are not being fulfilled. Their dreams are not being fulfilled, because they are not sowing seeds towards the fulfillment of those dreams. On the contrary they are sowing their needs instead of seeds before the Lord towards those dreams.

King Solomon continued in the above scripture texts by saying:

When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it. Do not let your mouth lead you into sin. And do not protest to the temple messenger, “My vow was a mistake.” Why should God be angry at what you say and destroy the work of your hands? Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭5:4-7 NIV

Mindless words with dreams, visions, plans, programs and ideas are meaningless without a seed before the Lord. There are many children of God like this all over the world today. They care so much about the needs in fulfilling their dreams and vision; but they are not sowing seeds. So they end up finding themselves “in-between the rock in a hard place.”

A Pastor once told me about his church member who came to him with a request, to get the tithe that she gave to the Lord back. She was like the person that Solomon referred to here, who had said that her vow was a mistake. She wanted her tithe back after two weeks of giving it, so as to make a loan payment that was due. The Pastor was shocked and asked this church member, if she thought that she was giving the tithe out to God as a loan? The lady answered back that she thought, she actually needed some interests back from the Church on her tithe. She thought that she was doing a favor to the Church with her tithe. She saw her tithe or vow as a financial loan to God, that would had yielded her some returns in paying off her debt.

And there are people in Churches today with this way of thinking, whenever they are sowing seeds. They see it as a way of offering a helping hand to the Body of Christ, and as an investment into their own lives so as to take care of their needs later with the dividends. Eventually this Pastor had to go back to teaching his congregation, about tithing and giving to the Lord all over again. He had to deal with the false illusion about tithing, offerings, alms giving and sowing seeds within his Church. This lady never understood what tithing was all about. She thought that she was helping God with her money. She saw it as a loan to God, and missed out of the blessing.

A vow is a seed for meeting needs. It works in bringing the glorification of your dream into manifestation. There is no way you can exchange your needs for the glory of the Lord, without a seed in your hand.

Jesus was the Seed for your needs

Jesus sowed His life on the cross for your redemption

The exchange for those needs had already taken place on the cross at Calvary. Jesus completed the exchange transaction. All that’s needed now is for you to accept that exchange transaction by Jesus on the cross with your seed words; because:

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus gave His life as the Seed for that exchange on the cross to take place. You can’t tap into that exchange anointing if you’re not a seed sower. It’s the only way to manifest the sons and daughters of God around your life, everywhere that those seeds are being sowed. Your ability to sow seeds will attract those whom God has assigned, to be connected with you in life to you.

If you’re not sowing seeds into the community where the Lord has called you to preach the gospel; don’t expect your Church or Ministries to grow and become a blessing back to you. Just forget about it. If you’re not willing to sow, you won’t reap a harvest in that community. Things don’t just grow out of nothing. The blessing can’t manifest without a seed being sowed. Everything on earth comes into manifestation as a result of someone sowing seeds.

But people who do not understand God’s plan, will always criticize seed sowing and harvesting on the earth. In most cases they are the very ones who are always lacking seeds to sow, because they are used to eating up their seeds instead of sowing them. Many within the Body of Christ today, who are in one form of debt or another fall within this category. A believer in Christ who is still worldly at heart will not sow seeds.

We are all the products of seeds on the earth. Your life, family, ministry and the church are all products of seeds. Different people planted seeds in your life, until you ended up the way you are today. Don’t ever underestimate the power of the seeds that people had planted in your life. Don’t put limitations on the power of a seed to perform in your life. But it’s not the amount of seeds that will manifest the harvest for you. It’s the faith that you have in the seed to respond positively to the power of God in glorifying it. If you don’t have faith in the seed, don’t waste your time about sowing it.

A seed has the power to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. And if you’d been sowing bad seeds without faith before, they can also fulfill the desires of the enemy in your life. That’s why you must be able to discern the power behind each seed that people are sowing into your life. You have to be able to discern the faith of the sower in the power of God, to prosper them as they are sowing into your life.

Some Christians will take and receive seeds from just anybody without spiritual discernments. This is spiritually dangerous. It is able to expose them to the attacks of the enemy. Get to know the power or forces behind the seeds that people are sowing into your life. Some people will sow because they want to manipulate and control you. Be very watchful and careful. You are able to discern effectively by spending some time out, praying in the spirit or in tongues over those seeds. The Holy Spirit will bring light into any darkness behind the seeds.

Many in the Body of Christ today do have knowledge of the word with some revelation. The only thing that is lacking in them is spiritual discernment. A good sower must be able to spiritually discern the potential power in his seed. Don’t ever be in a hurry, or be rushed by anyone to sow a seed. Pray in the spirit and let God give you the spiritual discernment before sowing seeds. It’s very crucial to your prosperity. Otherwise you will find yourself just throwing seeds away.

A seed can speak into your future

Don’t ever underestimate the power in a seed

A seed is always necessary to meet a need. The scripture says about the discernment in Abraham about the potential power in his seed:

“The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭NIV

And again:

“Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.”

‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You are the seed of God to the world around you. Abraham saw you as his seed from the moment God entered into a covenant with him (see Genesis 17:4-6). You can never know the power of the Seed, if you are not walking in a covenant relationship with God about sowing and reaping.

Your decision to sow a seed for anything in life should never be a social decision. It always has to be a spiritual decision. It has to be a decision that is triggered by your born again spirit man. And it must be followed up immediately by your act of obedience to God.

The decision to sow seeds must not be based on your observation of others within your social or religious circles. You’re going to miss out on the blessing of the Lord by doing that. You don’t determine your blessing based on the faith level of others. You will be limiting God’s power in your life by doing that.

You can’t receive a revelation from God, and then keep on living with that very revelation, with the mentality of everybody else around you. You need to learn how to flow in the light of that revelation by yourself and for yourself. Your lifestyle should distinguish you from others around you, as you live in that revelation from the Lord about sowing. That is how you can affect your world for Jesus through your seeds. The unbelievers will be attracted to the revelation light that you are walking in. They will become the followers of that light, just as you are following Jesus in the light.

The person who is looking out for the harvest, does not look at what others are doing around him. He sows seeds based on his own personal intuition. Anyone who sows seeds by first looking out for others, before sowing is not acting by faith. He is observing the clouds, and he has predetermined what his harvest will be before sowing.

As King Solomon said:

“Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things. Sow your seed in the morning, and at evening let your hands not be idle, for you do not know which will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both will do equally well.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:4-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In other words you never stop sowing seeds, if you are truly expecting a harvest from God, and not from men. Men can’t give you what God has in plan to deliver for you. You will have to be able to cultivate a seed sowing consciousness mind set, in your attitude towards the Kingdom of God, so as to reap a harvest from God.

That’s how your seeds will start speaking into your destiny in God. It will start bringing your prosperity to the light. It will start opening doors of opportunities into your life. And it will start speaking into your future. As the scriptures says:

“A discerning heart gains knowledge, the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. A man’s gift makes room for him, and leads him before great men.”

Proverbs‬ ‭18:15-16‬ ‭TLV

Your ability to discern the power behind every seed will make room for you. It will illuminate your heart with the light of the wisdom, concerning what to do, how to do it better and when to do it. You will then be on your way into greater exploits in whatsoever you are doing. God’s light will begin to light up your pathway before you into your prosperity.

A bad seed is the seed that the enemy has sown (Matthew 13:24-30).
