When Christians do not have a solid understanding of righteousness in their lives, they will be walking before God with wavering faith. They will be declaring God’s promises in one minute, and in another minute they will be yielding to the circumstances that has put them in bondage. They will be confessing the promises of God in one minute, and in a few minutes later they are declaring the reports of the devil.
That’s why they will call on the name of Jesus in prayer, and they will see nothing happening in answer to their prayer. They do have the “scepter of righteousness” – the authority to stand up strong against the devil in victory. But their faith is not working, because righteousness doesn’t work with wavering faith. They may be anointed of God, but there is a clog in the flow of the anointing over their lives. The lack of righteousness creates a spiritual clog in their lives, which Satan often exploits in hindering their faith from working.
The key to the effective use of your authority as a child of God, is in your ability to live righteously before God. Righteousness is the sign of your authority over the devil. And the devil acknowledges this. When you are living righteously before God, everything that you do makes the enemy to tremble. He flees away from you in terror, because of the righteousness of Christ in you.
Righteousness is also the key to getting the anointing, to flow through your life in getting the lost saved, in healing the sick and in setting the captives free. When you are established in righteousness nothing is impossible for you. Everything that your hand touches prospers. That’s why your faith doesn’t need to be wavering in God. Let your faith begin to establish you in righteousness (Isaiah 54:14 and Psalms 5:8).
Be constantly conscious of Christ’s righteousness in you
But righteousness consciousness is what will keep you strong in faith, until the manifestation of your breakthrough. It will keep you rooted and grounded in the love of God (Ephesians 3:16-18). It will make the word of God come alive in you, until you become God’s voice to carry it to the world (Proverbs 10:11).
Righteousness according to the great Pastor and Bible teacher E. W. Kenyon – is the condition of your heart, that causes your faith to grow in God for anything in life (see his book titled – “The two kinds of righteousness” by E. W. Kenyon).
In other words righteousness is not tangible, just as faith is not. But righteousness has to do with the condition of your heart before God. Is your heart right, steadfast and straight before God? Or does your heart waver and doubt His power to save, heal and deliver you? These are very important gauges for measuring your right standing before God.
You don’t have to do anything to be righteousness conscious. Jesus did everything for you already. You just need to receive righteousness, just as you received Christ into your life. And the moment Jesus is in your heart, you are already righteous before God. God accepts you as His own on the basis of your faith and acceptance of Jesus. He sees no fault, wrongdoing or sin in you, from the moment you professed Jesus as Lord.
Don’t let the devil put dirty thoughts in your mind, that you are not righteous, or that you are unworthy of God’s blessings. Cast those dirty thoughts down to obey the Spirit of Christ, because Christ’s mind is in you. As a Christian you think and talk like Jesus. That’s exactly how the devil sees you. You are therefore to exercise spiritual authority over the thoughts of evil, by pulling them down to obey your right standing before God.
Remember that the Bible says:
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV
Jesus made you righteous the moment you received Him into your heart. When you are growing in the grace of God, as you walk in obedience to His word; you will begin to become conscious of His righteousness in your life. Your ability to continue walking before God with Christ’s life and nature in you, gets you conformed into His image (Romans 8:29).
Let righteousness become your power bank
Righteousness gives you the ability to stand before God, without any sense of sin, guilt, unworthiness or inferiority. It makes you to realize that you are just like Jesus before the devil. Christ’s righteousness in you brings that condition to your heart. As you are walking before God with the consciousness of Christ’s righteousness in your life, faith rises up unconsciously from your heart like an unstoppable flood. Anything you touch or do begins to prosper.
That’s how:
“ .. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
James 5:16b AMPC
There is a dynamic power in your life which only righteousness can produce. When prayers are not being answered, it’s not due to the absence of faith in the life of the believer. It’s actually the lack of the understanding of the power of righteousness in that believer. The prayer of the righteous man makes power available, to change every situation in his life. It’s not the absence or the deficiency of faith that hinders prayer; but it’s the inability of the believer to constantly walk in righteousness consciousness.
God has given you the dominion over the earth. You are now meant to be ruling, reigning and dominating the earth, with Christ’s righteousness working through you. That’s how you are actually able to change your home, transform your place of work or businesses. You are also able to transform your community; as you allow God’s voice to speak through you in those places. Your ability to walk in righteousness makes you the voice of God to your world.
You don’t have to settle down for every negative situation going on around you. Let righteousness work through you in those places, to transform what is not right and bring them to the obedience of Christ. God listens to the prayer of a righteous man, and not the prayer of an unrighteous man.
Walking in righteousness with boldness
You don’t let the devil lie to you, about what belongs to you as a child of God. Your righteousness works through you in mastering the devil and all his demons. They can’t stand before you, as long as you are walking in righteousness. But you will need to be exercising your authority over them in righteousness at all times. That’s how they will stay away from you. They can’t withstand your ability to confront them in righteousness.
Don’t let the devil make your faith unproductive. He will try to bring up the memory of your sinful pasts, so as to keep you from being righteousness conscious. But you don’t have a sin nature in you anymore. You now have the nature of the son or daughter of God in you. You belong to God alone. You are now God’s property.
The very nature of your Father in Heaven is in you. It’s the nature of Christ’s righteousness and holiness in your life. The devil knows this, and he knows that the only way he can keep you from walking in the reality of this truth, is by bringing up the dead issues of your life. He knows that this will keep you from being able to stand strong before God.
He knows that it will make you to start living in self condemnation. And when you are living in self condemnation, you’re not able to walk in righteousness before God. Your faith will not work with self condemnation in your life.
Paul said:
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:1-2 NIV
The power of God cannot flow through a Christian, who is living consciously based on the remembrance of his dead past sins. God’s power in such a Christian is like, the light shining through a glass of muddy water. It can’t shine through it. But the righteousness of Christ in you, is like a clear glass of clean water. Light is able to penetrate through it. The power of God in your life is that Light of Righteousness.
Sin therefore has no rule over your life. You had been set free from it by the blood of Jesus Christ. Righteousness consciousness is what reigns in you as a child of God. Walk free in it, and begin to live like a master over the temptation to sin (Genesis 4:7).
As the scriptures says:
“throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy
Ephesians 4:22-24 NLT
When you are allowing the Holy Spirit to help you, daily in renewing your thoughts and attitudes towards the situations in your life, you will be able to walk boldly; like a lion in true righteousness and holiness. It will make tremendous and dynamic power available to heal you, to deliver you, and to ultimately bring souls into the Kingdom of God. Sinners will see the Light of Righteousness shinning through you, and they will surely come to that Light.
Start living like a child, and not like a servant
Your inheritance as a child of God comes to you, only in the proportion of the grace of God that you are walking in, with your new identity as His child. You are God’s child, not a servant (Galatians 4:1-5). A servant has no inheritance with the Father. The servant’s mentality will hinder your ability to experience the fullness of the Father’s blessings.
You have to keep on professing with your mouth in righteousness, who you truly are in Christ Jesus. The devil wants you to go back living in the sinful pasts, that Christ had already delivered you from. But your faith can only works in righteousness in defeating him.
But you can’t be living in sin, or have a sin consciousness mentality at heart or in your mind; while still holding on to the promises of God on your lips. This is a form of spiritual hypocrisy, which has denied many of the blessing of God. That kind of double life will produce nothing with your faith. You can’t be living in sin and expect God to answer your prayer.
Sin will make your faith unproductive in manifesting what you are believing God for. You may be making all those confessions daily; but it will do you no good at all, if sin is still on your mind.
But Righteousness will heal you
Remember that David said these words about what the Lord did for him:
“Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Psalms 103:5 NKJV
David was speaking to himself here about the good things in his life, and about how the Lord brought them into manifestation. He was making a confession of his faith, by reminding the spirit man inside of him about what the Lord did for him. The Lord satisfies your mouth also daily, with the goodness of His promises in your profession of faith.
That’s how your righteousness will begin to shine forth; and your physical body becomes renewed for daily strength. The human body was created by God to heal itself naturally, with the words that you are confessing daily. By cultivating a righteousness consciousness mentality, you are empowering your physical body to heal itself naturally.
David’s son (Solomon) gave this advice to his own son:
“My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.”
Proverbs 4:20-22 NKJV
If you keep on believing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, sooner or later your heart will start being established in the truth, concerning what you are confessing. This is how the grace of God works in you to empower you in living a holy and righteous life, in accordance with God’s standards through His written word.
If on the other hand you have been confessing your healing, but the enemy keeps on making you think, that you are not worthy of healing. And to make it even worse for you, he starts directing you to consider the doctor’s report, instead of keeping your eyes on God’s promises to you. Sooner or later you will start believing the doctor’s report, and not God’s word about your healing.
Satan will use your unconscious or conscious confessions, about the doctor’s report and the diagnosis, to steal God’s promises of healing from your heart. He will use it to steal your righteousness consciousness away from you. And before you realize and understand what he is doing, you will start believing in the doctors more than in God. That’s because you are constantly confessing what the doctors are saying, and not what God says.
Whatever you are constantly confessing about the doctors’ report, will produce the fruit thereof in your heart. You will keep believing it more and more. The devil will make sure that you are entrenched in your confessions, about those negative thoughts. So stop confessing every negative thought that comes to you. Judge every thought by the Spirit of Christ in you. It will be disastrous for you, if you are not taking your spiritual authority over them.
That’s how people often die from untimely death through sicknesses. It’s with the mouth that it all begins. And if your mouth has gotten you into trouble right now; your mouth will have to get you out of it. When you change your confessions, then your righteousness consciousness will start coming back to manifest healing for your body.
As the Prophet Malachi said:
“But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.”
Malachi 4:2 NKJV
Righteousness consciousness will then begin to rise up in you to bring healing to your body, as you allow the Lord to fill up your mouth with the good confessions to manifest your miracle. Start changing your thoughts to change your confessions.
Righteousness will bring your healing to you; even without anyone having to lay hands on you for prayer. You have your miracle in your heart and on your lips. So take it now. It’s all your’s. Let your righteousness begin to make your faith to work for you.
