In the wisdom that the Lord God gave to King Solomon, he said that:
“Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, So a curse without cause shall not alight.”
Proverbs 26:2 NKJV
The Contemporary English Version translation puts it in this way:
“A curse you don’t deserve will take wings and fly away like a sparrow or a swallow.”

In other words, there is no weapon that is designed or targeted against you that shall ever produce any result – Isaiah 54:17. No curse of the law that’s directed against you can be able to stay on you. It will flee away from you, in terror of who you are as a Covenant child of God (Deuteronomy 28:7).
How is this supposed to happen? It’s very simple! The devil identifies you at all times in the Covenant, that you have by the blood of Jesus Christ with the Lord God. That’s why no curse of the law will be able to come near you.
The Bible explains how this worked in the life of Paul on the Island of Malta, when he was once bitten by a snake. It says:
“When the islanders saw the snake dangling from Paul’s hand, they said to one another, “No doubt about it, this guy is a murderer. Even though he escaped death at sea, Justice has now caught up with him!” But Paul shook the snake off, flung it into the fire, and suffered no harm at all. Everyone watched him, expecting him to swell up or suddenly drop dead. After observing him for a long time and seeing that nothing unusual happened, they changed their minds and said, “He must be a god!”

The mere fact that the snake bite had no effect on Paul, made the Islanders to believe that “he must be a god”. In other words, they saw the manifestation of the Son of God in his life.
This is the testimony of a Covenant keeping son or daughter of God. When we are walking in Covenant with God, the world sees us as if they are seeing God Himself. Your ability to walk faithfully in the Covenant makes you like God to them.
This is how powerful your Covenant by the blood of Jesus is to the powers of the darkness of this world. They can’t ever put a curse on you.
Your faith in God is your Covenant identifier.
Any time that they see you, they see God. And that’s really who you are to them from the moment, when you entered into the Covenant with Him.
The Bible says:
“Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.”
Deuteronomy 28:10 NKJV
The truth is that the Covenant which you have with the Almighty God by the blood of Jesus Christ, names and identifies you as God on the earth. This became so real to me a few months ago, as I was about to pray for a fellow believer who was on admission in a hospital. The Lord had asked me: “Does God really walk around with a catheter and in a hospital gown?”
I knew immediately that He was telling me that, I didn’t need to pray for the individual. I only needed to remind him of who he is in Christ Jesus and encourage him to use his privileged relationship with God, by the Covenant in the blood of His Son to get himself out of the hospital. In two days, he was discharged, and the doctors could not explain how he recovered so quickly.
In any Covenant relationship, the Covenant in itself authorizes each party in the Covenant, to use each other’s names to each other’s advantages. You are just like the person that you’re in a Covenant relationship with.
For:
“Two are better than one, because they have a good [more satisfying] reward for their labor;”
Ecclesiastes 4:9 AMPC
And in the New Living Translation:
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9 NLT
This is one of the super advantages of walking in Covenants, by faithfully keeping it. When we are walking and keeping faith in our Covenant relationship with God, everything that belongs to Him belongs to us also. This is how every Covenant on the earth works.
The constitution and laws of any nation on earth today, are based on the covenant that the citizens of that nation have with one another. They are able to live peacefully with one another, because of that covenant. Once any party in the covenant breaks faith in the covenant, there’s chaos, instability and war in the nation.
Paul was walking in the Covenant that, he had with God by the blood of Jesus Christ. The people on the island of Malta saw him as God, because of that Covenant.
The Covenant as your line of defense.
Your Covenant stand in the blood of the Lamb, is your defense line against the angel of destruction, whose job is to bring the curse upon those, who are breaking their Covenant relationship with God Almighty.
According to King Solomon (above) the curse of the law cannot come near you, as long as you are identified as a Covenant keeper with God. You’re carrying His Name and everything that goes with that Name, everywhere you go on the earth as a Christian. You will have to be walking boldly in the reality of who you are, so as to be able to get what belongs to you in the Covenant.
That’s why Jesus said to the Father:
“While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.”
John 17:12 NKJV
You are protected by the Name of Jesus. There is nothing that the devil throws out into the world around you, that will ever affect you. You will only hear the report of the destruction of the enemy, but your eyes shall not see it (Psalms 91:7).
Walk boldly in your Covenant.
This calls for the wisdom to always remember to strengthen your Covenant with God Almighty, by the blood of Jesus Christ. It’s primarily based on the blood of Jesus, and the washing of the blood had taken all your sins away. In this Covenant God had already promised you, never to remember your sins ever again.
Now, if you’re walking in the Covenant with Him, you are supposed to have the same mindset with Him about your past. If God remembers your sins no more, why are you still keeping Him in remembrance of them? Why are some Christians walking around with a sin consciousness mind set, instead of a Covenant consciousness mind set?
A sin consciousness mindset is the attitude in any Covenant relationship that brings self-condemnation into it. And the moment you begin to condemn yourself, as being unworthy to be who God calls you in the Covenant; you will begin to undermine the Covenant itself. This is how the devil is depriving many Christians of their benefits in the Covenant with the Lord God (Psalms 103:1-5).
Remind Him about the Covenant always.
The Lord God is asking you to always identify with Him in the eternal Covenant by the blood of Jesus Christ. Are you keeping faith in your Covenant with Him? Are you a Covenant faker or a Covenant breaker?
You do have a Christian duty to always re-evaluate your faithfulness to God in your covenant relationship with Him. The angel of destruction is going around looking for who to devour. The only thing that separates you from that destruction is your faithfulness to the Covenant with the Lord God.
The Lord God has the blessing of Abraham as the benefit of your Covenant with Him. Remind Him of this always at the communion table. It is the moment to draw closer to Him, so that you can find yourself reaping the benefits of the Covenant. Get yourself well positioned, for the great harvest is right now on your doorstep.
