Whenever we are walking in obedience to the word of the Lord God through His Prophets, we are bound to see the prosperity of the Lord. God will bring His word to come to pass for us, just as it has been declared from the mouth of His Prophet, and we’ve embraced it.
For:
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
Numbers 23:19 NKJV
What He has declared shall be surely established in the lives of those who believe it. God is not like a human being that He should change His word. And He expects you not to change your confession of faith in what has been prophetically declared over your life, because it’s crucial to the fulfillment of His promises to you. His promises are always; “Yes and Amen”.
His spoken word through the mouth of His Prophets is like the light that shines across your pathway, to brighten your footsteps into His prosperity. Even though His word may have been declared by the Prophet, it is however the duty of the believer in it to be walking by faith in the reality of it.
If the Lord God has spoken the word of healing over your life for example, it’s your responsibility to start acting like a healed person. This is because from the moment His word has been declared, God sees you as being healed.
And if God sees you as being healed, you need to be seeing yourself in the same way also.
That’s how the prophetic word will cause you to prosper. If all you are seeing is the ailment in your body, even though His word says that you are healed, you are obviously not in agreement with God. Your lack of faith in His word will render it powerless to do what it says you are.
Faith makes the spoken word of the Prophet a reality in the life of the receiver of God’s promises. For:
“He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions.”
Psalms 107:20 NKJV
That’s the bottom line of your situation. It’s by His word that He healed you. Your healing is in His word. Healing is tangible, just as your faith is tangible by the word of God. Your ability to keep holding on to His spoken promises brings tangibility to His promises in your life.
Take it. Speak it with your mouth all the time. And never even allow your medical diagnosis to force you to change your confession of faith, because if God says you are healed that’s the truth which will change that fact.
Embrace it and start acting like a healed person, and not a sick person. Stop calling yourself sick, when God has called you healed. Put action to your faith as you are confessing your healing. You are who His word has already declared you to be – “healed”.
Those who are doubting or are wary of the word of the Prophet of God, will often have themselves to blame. They will suffer for want and lack in life. They will always have need for what they are unable to tap into by faith.
The Samaritan woman in John chapter four (as an example); after she was confronted by Jesus about her past had this to say about Him:
“The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.”
John 4:19 NKJV
When she said those words to Jesus, it was her faith that was speaking. Even though she was not a Jewish believer, she had the spiritual eye to see the prophetic in the words of Jesus concerning her past.
The prophetic is always based on the past, present and also points us into the future. This is how you are able to see spiritual principle working through the words of the real Prophet of God. The past exposes the cause of a situation, the present speaks about the status quo; while the future in the prophetic always points to the eternal plan of God in it.
The Samaritan woman knew immediately that her future in the prophetic lies in her own hands, and not in the hands of the Prophet who had spoken into her life. She had to do something about her future, as the spoken words of Jesus into her past had exposed what was hindering her prosperity.
God’s word from the mouth of Jesus had spoken directly to the root problem in her life. She knew that the prophetic word had been spoken over her life.
There are a lot of unbelievers who are smarter than certain Christians, in recognizing the prophetic when they hear it. They are experiencing the prosperity of the Lord God in their lives, because they are walking in obedience to that word of prophecy, even though they are not Christians.
God’s word will work for anyone who will dare to do something about what it says.
An unbelieving businessman once heard about the importance of sowing tithes off the profits of his business. He made the decision to start giving ten percent of his monthly profit income, to a Church that he was not even a member of. He fears God and decides to honor His word.
The result was that his business started making money in areas, where he had never seen profits before. He eventually was able to comprehend that his tithing habits had opened doors of prosperity into his business.
He had heard God’s word about tithing through a Prophet, who had patronized his business. And by putting the advice of this prophet into practice, his company has expanded into new business ventures. A portion of his business that was making insignificant profit before, has become the strong bone of the company today.
It was three years after he had been seeing the prosperity of the Lord, that someone from the local Church where he had been sending his tithes, eventually brought him the word of salvation.
This young businessman saw the prosperity of the Lord before he even got saved. The Lord God will prosper anyone who will dare to put His word into practice. This spiritual principle works for anyone who is determined to put it into practice. The Lord God will prosper them on credit, even though they are unbelievers.
Is it not amazing that in Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth He was rejected by His own people as the Messiah. Yet a Samaritan woman saw the prophetic in His words and believed, that He was the Messiah. Her testimony to everyone brought joy into her village.
The very people that Jesus was sent to had rejected His prophetic Ministry; but Jesus was accepted in the least expected place among the Samaritans.
It was not a surprise that Jesus immediately saw the harvest of souls in the faith of this Samaritan woman. He told His disciples:
“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”
John 4:35 NKJV
Jesus was amazed by the faith of this woman, who was bent on reaping the harvest from the words that He had sowed into her life.
Jesus with the disciples were initially not planning to spend the night in the Samaritan village. But the faith of this woman had forced them to stay and make disciples for two days of the new believers whom this woman had brought to Jesus.
There is no limit to what the prophetic can do in the life of anyone, who has purposed to walk in it by doing what it says.
This is how the prosperity of the Lord God comes into our lives, as we believe in what it says with our hearts, and as we are confessing it with our mouth.
A Christian who has received God’s promise for his life, ought to be confessing what it says, instead of confessing the lies of the devil.
What the enemy is doing to prevent your prosperity are the negative reports, that he has surrounded you with. He wants you to believe what you are seeing in those negativities, so that you can keep on confessing them.
That’s what he does to hinder your progress into the prosperity of the Lord, and the fulfillment of the prophetic word over your life.
There is no doubt that the Samaritan woman became prosperous in her village. The favor of God located her as she released her faith in reaction, to the words that Jesus had spoken into her life. She went about declaring that she had seen the Messiah, and her testimony brought the whole village to Jesus.
God’s desire is for all Christians to prophesy.
A true Prophet of God speaks with the authority that comes from God the Father. He does not speak his own words, but whatever he has heard from the Father is what he declares, without adding to it or taking away from it.
Jesus said:
“For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”
John 12:49-50 NKJV
The Prophet of the Lord God does not speak on his own authority. He is sent from God to speak only what he has heard from Him.
This is why the Ministry of Jesus Christ is still ongoing and successful on the earth today. The Prophet of God hears directly from God and declares what He has heard. He does what the Lord God has revealed to him in the spirit only. This was exactly what Jesus did. He never added to what He had heard from the Father, neither did He subtract from it.
There are a lot of false prophets on the earth today, who are adding and subtracting from the word of the Lord God. They will have to answer before the Lord for what they are doing. In most cases they are speaking out of their flesh, and not by the Spirit of the Lord God.
A Prophet’s voice resonates with an authoritative tone in the ears and the heart of his listeners. He speaks on the earth on behalf of God. He speaks with the authority behind his anointing. He does not speak for himself, but for God alone.
When the Lord God spoke directly to the first gathering of believers in His name, as they were journeying through the wilderness, they were fearful of His voice.
The Lord God had revealed Himself to His people by speaking directly to them. But they were so fearful of His voice. They had stood in awe of Him, and even thought that they were going to die for hearing God’s voice.
According to Moses they had said:
“ .. Surely the Lord our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. We have seen this day that God speaks with man; yet he still lives. Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore, then we shall die. For whom is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived? You go near and hear all that the Lord our God may say and tell us all that the Lord our God says to you, and we will hear and do it.’”
Deuteronomy 5:24-27 NKJV
From that moment onwards they suggested that Moses should become the intermediary between them and God. They could not withstand the power of God’s voice. His voice shook the mountain and the ground around them. It made them to tremble in awe of God (Hebrews 12:25-29).
The Lord God agreed with them about Moses becoming the intermediary between them and Him. This was how the prophetic ministry was set into motion in the Old Testament Church.
There are many people who don’t believe that God can speak directly to people today. They are mistaken. They see it as being too much for a man of flesh and blood to handle.
But it’s for this very reason that God had to come down to our level of reasoning and understanding, by sending His Son (Jesus) into the world, so that we can be able to hear Him speak to us directly through Him.
What happened in the wilderness with the Israelites, when they had first heard God’s voice, opened the door for the prophetic ministry into the Body of Christ as we have it today.
God saw the need for an intermediary between Him and His people, even after the ascension of Jesus, who was to be speaking His word prophetically to His people on the earth.
Moses described that moment with these words:
“Then the Lord heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me: ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken. Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!”
Deuteronomy 5:28-29 NKJV
The prophetic ministry was designed by the Lord God to reveal His pathway of prosperity to His people on the earth. Individuals, communities and nations will see the prosperity of the Lord, as they are adhering to every word of the prophetic. When we are inclining our heart to the word of prophecy, it will manifest itself in our lives by doing what it says.
Moses made known the mind of God about this, while two of the leaders of the Israelites in the wilderness were prophesying in the camp; instead of inside the Tent of meeting where the other seventy leaders were gathered before God.
He told Joshua who had asked him to stop the two men from prophesying:
.. “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!”
Numbers 11:29 NKJV
The Lord God desires that every believer in the name of Jesus should be prophesying.
That’s God’s will for us all as Christians on the earth. He desires to spread His prosperity through all the earth, as His people are prophesying about His visions for the prosperity of individuals, communities and the nations.
Unfortunately, it’s not every Christian who has been able to comprehend that. There are denominations and Churches that do forbid prophesying today. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are in their midst, but there is no desire in them to take hold of them, in spreading the Lord God’s prosperity across the world.
Many are living in poverty instead of prosperity, because the devil is using the lack of desire among such Christians for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, to hold people in the bondage of poverty.
The Apostle Paul also said in affirmation of what Moses had said in the wilderness:
“Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.”
I Corinthians 14:39-40 NKJV
Paul laid out an order for prophesying within the local Church in 1 Corinthians chapter 14, and by doing so he resolved the problem, which Moses was encountering in the wilderness with the Israelites, as some were prophesying out of order.
God desires to see all Christians prophesying; but it must be done decently and orderly. This why Paul also said:
“For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints”.
1 Corinthians 14:31-33 NKJV
The prophetic always comes with authority.
Jesus oftentimes spoke with a loud voice to the crowd, so that His words could get to as many people as possible among His listeners. In those days they don’t have public address systems as we have it today.
For example, the crowd which heard Him speaking on the top of His voice, while inviting anyone who was thirsty to come to Him and drink of the living water, knew that He was speaking prophetically.
Jesus was not speaking quietly as He was inviting them, to come and drink of the Holy Spirit.
He was introducing Himself to them as the Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, just as John had pointed Him out to them at the Jordan river (John 1:33).
Jesus had spoken with authority and power to affirm God’s word in the heart of His listeners. He might had spoken quietly and not a lot of people would have heard Him.
But since faith comes by hearing the word of the Prophet, Jesus had to speak with a loud voice, so that faith could arise in the heart of many of His listeners.
That’s why the Evangelist and the Prophet are often loud with their messages. They both unlike the other three ministries of the fivefold ministries can sometimes be loud, as they are declaring the word of the Lord.
The Apostle, the Pastor and the Teacher don’t necessarily have to be loud; as the Evangelist and the Prophet are, since their ministries attaches them more closely to the local Church in their works among God’s people.
This explains why the Evangelist and the Prophet have often escaped being entangled, with the daily business of running the local Church. They don’t have to endure what these other three ministries of the fivefold ministries, are experiencing within the local Body of Christ.
Both the Prophet and the Evangelist are sent out by the Lord God, to take His word to both the Church and the unsaved world. The other ministries of the fivefold ministries primarily function within the local Body of Christ.
This means that both the Evangelist and the Prophet do have a high responsibility before God, for presenting His word just as they have received it directly from Him.
They are not people pleasers. They are God pleasers. A Prophet or an Evangelist will not declare God’s word to please or soothe people.
The Prophet is therefore a Preacher before becoming a Prophet. He carries with him the preacher’s anointing into the prophetic ministry.
Just because he is a Prophet doesn’t mean that he should not be preaching anymore. The prophetic ministry is the increase of the Lord God’s anointing over his life.
The Bible says about the crowd that had heard Jesus speak with a loud voice, as He invited them to come and drink of the Holy Spirit that:
“When the crowds heard him say this, some of them declared, “Surely this man is the Prophet we’ve been expecting.”
John 7:40 NLT
This mixed multitude that had heard Jesus proclaiming Himself as the One Who is to baptize in the Holy Ghost, was smarter than the religious leaders who were listening to His proclamation. They could recognize the voice of the true Prophet in the words of Jesus. They could discern the prophetic authority in the tone of His voice.
Jesus never spoke like the religious leaders of His time. He spoke like the Man who had been sent from the Father in Heaven.
Even the temple guards who were sent to arrest Him, also testified to the religious leaders about the manner in which He had spoken. They said:
“We have never heard anyone speak like this!” the guards responded.”
John 7:46 NLT
The prophetic word always comes across in a way that amazes the listeners.
In the prophetic Ministry of Jesus, we can see the multitude of five thousand that He had fed, observing the prophetic anointing which Moses had pointed to them in His voice. It’s interesting that the religious leaders could see the same anointing but could not believe in Him.
The scripture says about the multitude:
“Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”
John 6:14 NKJV
Oftentimes the prophetic may be hard to comprehend, especially if you have not been accustomed to the teachings of the particular Prophet. It is only when we are following in the footsteps of the prophetic word, which has been spoken to us, that we can truly become doers of it.
Many people have drifted away from the word of prophecy that they have received. As a result of this, they are struggling to stand on the promises of God for their lives. The enemy has overwhelmed them with the darkness of this world, in order to prevent them from keeping in step with their prophetic words.
Instead of keeping in step with the prophetic words that they have received, they are observing the clouds and everything that the devil is throwing at them, so as to doubt in the promises of God for their prosperity.
As Jesus said:
“A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.”
John 12:35 NKJV
The pathway of the Prophet is never smooth.
Every true Prophet of God may be hard to follow, because those who are following him will be persecuted, just as he is being persecuted. They will share in his reward along with him also.
The disciples of Jesus experienced this when He told the multitude, that anyone who wanted to follow Him must partake of His flesh and His blood.
Many of the people in the crowd had started to leave Him. They thought that He had gone nuts. They could not understand what He meant by “eating His flesh and drinking His blood”.
The Bible says:
“From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
John 6:66-69 NKJV
The crowd that was following Jesus started to gradually withdraw away from Him, because of this statement. This prophetic statement by Jesus was too hard for them to believe and follow.
But for the twelve Apostles there was nowhere for them to go again. They knew that they were stuck with Jesus, because they had seen so many miracles that had sealed their fate with Him.
We are always to be keeping our eyes on the Spirit of the letter of God’s word, instead of focusing solely on the letter itself. Those whose ears are not open to hear prophetically can never be obedient to God. They are the Christians who are often questioning others in the Body of Christ and their faith.
Every true Prophet is first of all a Teacher of God’s word before he is a Preacher. His prophetic teachings emanate from his teaching ministry. Whatever he had taught about is what he will eventually be prophesying about.
And since he gets his discipline into the office of the Prophet from the Lord God, his teachings are also from the Lord God. The Lord is seeking the prosperity of those who are following in his teachings. That’s why the prophetic anointing has come upon him.
The teachings of the Prophets in the holy scriptures helps us to comprehend the mind of God, concerning many issues that are affecting our world today. You can never know the mind of God about many things in the world today, if you are not following the teachings of His Prophets in the Bible.
Jesus said:
.. “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority. He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.”
John 7:16-18 NKJV
There are many Christians today who have drifted away from following in the prophetic word of God to them. They have drifted away because the enemy has cornered them and twisted their faith, in God’s promises to them. They have heard the teachings of the Prophet; but they are not following in line with His prophetic words.
Are you following in your prophetic promises?
There are many who are saying that they are waiting on God to fulfill His promises for their lives. Whereas it is the other way around. God is waiting on them to start standing on His promises to them without wavering.
Those who are wavering have already drifted away from faith in God’s promises. They have gone in the way of unrighteousness, because they have gotten wary of proclaiming God’s promises.
And just because they have drifted away doesn’t necessarily mean that they can’t return back to those promises.
The moment they make the decision to return back to God, He will begin to pick them up again and reposition them on the right track into their prosperity.
So, what are you waiting for? All that needs to be done is for you to start calling on the Lord, and to start declaring those promises. If it’s about your healing, start declaring that you are healed. God will respond to your faith and put you back to the place that you belong. Your healing will surely manifest. Amen!
