God’s way are not like our ways of doing things

The essence of prayer is to bring heaven’s solution into earthly problems. And in order to be effective in seeking and getting heaven’s solution, our own way of resolving problems must become dead before Him. The arm of flesh will never take the glory that belongs to God.

He had said:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There are many Christians who are seeking the help of the Lord; but who are facing pressures from the world around them as a result of their problems. And as soon as the enemy increases the pressure on their faith, they often easily give up on heaven’s solution, by succumbing to the pressures from the world.

They end up resorting to the flesh in helping themselves, instead of keeping their eyes on Jesus. However the Bible says that:

“The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.”

‭‭Nahum‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Our God is a good God. The goodness of the Lord is able to sustain those who are trusting in Him in the time of trouble. This is why it’s important not to be trying to figure out things when we are praying. A Christian who is trying to figure out how God will answer His prayer, is not acting in faith, but he is wavering. Such a person should not expect anything from the Lord (James 1:5-8).

The Lord knows those who are trusting in Him. If you are trusting in the Lord, then you will have to be spending more of your precious time in His presence for solutions, instead of running around like the faithless ungodly people of the world.

The world does not have insight into the word of God. They are clueless about how your faith in God works. However, we as the children of God are supposed to be shining as the light of God, for the world to be following in example (Ephesians 5:8).

There is a very strong word of wisdom in this saying: “When the arrow of God is no longer at ease, things fall apart”. This is the true depiction of the spiritual state of those who are supposed to be living by faith in the Lord, but who are not. The enemy has lied to them as they are holding on to his deception. Consequently, everything around them is falling apart.

When a Christian rushes out of the presence of the Lord while praying, he misses the opportunities for spiritual advancement in resolving the issues of his life. If we acknowledge that wisdom flows from God’s presence; then His presence is where we need to be tarrying daily, and not in the world where the enemy is the master deceiver.

Pay attention to His word for wisdom

All the wisdom that you need are in the scriptures

The obvious reason why a child of God will not hear from the Lord, is because of the lack of attention to His written word. When a Christian is paying attention on a steady and constant basis to His word and promises in the scriptures; then the spiritual ears of that person becomes opened and illuminated to hear from Him.

The Lord will begin to instruct and direct you, if you are indeed paying attention to His written word. Many people are reading the Bible, but majority are not paying attention to the wisdom of God in it. And when they do pay attention, they are doing so to fulfill the lust of their flesh, instead of taking hold of the truth in it, that will make them free (John 8:31-32).

When we are fellowshipping with the Lord in His word, He also will come and fellowship with us by His Spirit. And to be able to do this effectively, we must be walking in obedience to His written word.

God does not speak to those who are reading His written word daily, and do know what it says; but has chosen not to obey it. You can’t say that you love Him, when you can’t obey His word.

The absence of obedience to God’s word in the life of a Christian, is the evidence of the absence of the faith walk in that life. A faithless person will never obey God’s word, because he doesn’t believe it will work to resolve his problems in life.

There are a lot of people who often talk about their faith; but they don’t know that the Lord God is more concerned, about our acts of obedience to His written word, than what we are saying with the mouth.

If you are not obeying God’s word that you can read and understand, how are you going to obey His voice when He speaks directly to you?

If you are paying more attention to the world around you, then you are obviously listening more to the world. And your faith is in the world’s offer of solution, that you think will work for you. Your faith is not in God’s word, but in the world.

Those who are paying attention to God’s word are the ones whose faith are in Him. They are the ones who can boldly go into the presence of the Lord, and talk with Him about anything.

And the Lord will respond to them without anything hindering their ability to hear Him, because their eyes are steadfast and focused on His way of doing things through His word.

Prayer is the way of life of such believers in Christ. God’s word is like spiritual food and life to them. They’re not struggling in their prayer life, because the presence of the Lord is with them.

They don’t fast and pray during the Lenten Season alone. In fact fasting and praying is a way of life to them.

Pray in accordance to His will

Praying becomes easier when God’s will is revealed

Some people do like to say prayers in order to fulfill the lust of their flesh. It’s surprising to me how they can expect the Lord to answer them.

This is why it’s important to first search the scriptures for God’s promises, that goes in line with each prayer need before going to the Lord in prayer.

We are to be asking for His perfect will to be established in our lives. The Lord God wants the very best for us, because it’s in His nature to be good to us.

And God’s word and His promises in the scriptures are His perfect will for us in prayer. We can’t ask the Lord for anything that is outside of His will, and expect Him to answer us. His written word reveals His perfect will for us in prayer.

Jesus laid out this very principle for us in prayer, when He taught the disciples to pray:

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There are Christians who do like to say their prayer in contradiction of this principle of prayer from the Lord. They are the ones who are praying: “Your will be done in the heavens as I want it on the earth”. They are not ignorant of the will of God, but the flesh in them won’t yield to obey the word of God. They are seeking to exploit God’s word to fulfill the lust of the flesh in them.

The establishment of God’s Kingdom on the earth is the ultimate goal in our prayer life as Christians. When people can’t bring themselves to obeying God’s word, they will suffer in getting heaven’s solution in resolving their problems in life.

However, when you are putting the establishment of His Kingdom on the earth above your personal agendas, in most cases you won’t have to pray before the Lord will start doing things, to resolve your problems for you.

 That’s why Jesus said:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
As you continue this year’s Lenten Season chose to start putting the things of His Kingdom first. Put Him and the things that are dearest to the Lord’s heart first. Then, watch Him doing things also to resolve your problems for you.

Don’t let the world and the devil prevent you from obeying God’s word first, because that’s where everything begins with the Lord. To put His Kingdom first, you will have to obey the words of Jesus about it.

This was actually His last command to every Christian before He ascended back to the Father.

He said:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The moment you have made a firm decision to obey this last command of Jesus, is the moment when He will begin to show you, by instructing and directing you about what He wants you to do.

But you will have to learn how to wait by tarrying in His presence for His instruction and direction for your life.
This Lenten Season gives you the best opportunity to do this. You can begin by saying the following words out loud, for you to hear yourself saying them.

Say:

“Lord Jesus, you gave me the command to go to the end of the earth to testify about your goodness in my life. I purpose within myself right now to obey your command. I am now waiting on you to lead me and guide me about how to do it. I open my heart to receive your word. Thank you for showing me what to do and how to do it. I love you Lord Jesus, and I chose to be obedient to your voice from this day onward”. Amen
