Stop whining and complaining. Look up to speak and live in the Covenant promises

There are a lot of people who do like to go about complaining about their lives, instead of laying hold on what God had given them with a good confession of faith from their mouth. Then they begin to wonder why things are not working out for them, no matter how hard they work to make it better.

There are spiritual laws in place that determines the outcome of our words and actions in life. And it’s important to know who you are aligning your words and actions towards in life – God or the devil. You will surely reap the harvest of whatever you are saying and doing.

That’s why the Apostle Paul said:

“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The spirit of faith does not complain or whine. The spirit of faith believes and then speaks. It sees in the spirit what belongs to you, and takes it by the spirit with spoken words, by declaring what is seen in the spirit. And it does not open the door of the heart to doubt and complaints. By holding on to such a good confession of faith, great things will be lined up for such a believer (Hebrews 10:23).

The spirit of faith just takes it in the spirit. It refuses to let go of what you had laid hold onto already in the realm of the spirit. It takes it until faith sees the physical manifestation of what had been spoken with words.

Paul said in another place again to the Galatians:

“Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is the works of the law (Galatians 5:19-21) that often leads a Christian to whine and complain, about an unjust system in the distribution of wealth around him. It is what’s leading many into spiritual and eventually physical death. The hearing of faith is what gives abundant and overflowing life. But by being separated from the works of the law, the spirit of a man is empowered to hear the word of faith for his profits.

In other words it’s important to know how faith comes, so that we can be able to take hold of our miracles. Paul said here that faith comes by hearing. When you are hearing about what God had already provided for you; faith comes to your heart, so as to be able to take the necessary action in possessing them. This is all about walking and working in the Covenant with God. As you choose to walk and work in Covenant with God, you will be positioned to possess the wealth of the ungodly.

The children of Israel (for example) experienced this when they left Egypt for the land of Canaan. A land where their ancestors had been living before coming to live in Egypt. They had the vision in their hearts about God’s promises to Abraham. They had faith in the words of that Covenant between God and Abraham.

The Bible said as they eventually were leaving Egypt:

“Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. And the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭12:35-36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

They had acted on the word of God to them through Moses. They never acted on their own personal knowledge of the situation; but on what God had said through Moses. And as they acted by speaking words to ask, they saw a supernatural transfer of the wealth of the Egyptians into their hands. God knows how to turn things around for your favor. He knows how to move the wealth of the ungodly into your hands.

This was how they plundered their enemies. Those who had oppressed them became subject to them. God’s word enforced the Abrahamic Covenant for them. In a moment of time in between the night and the morning, they were transformed from living in poverty, into the place of abundance and overflow of riches. This is what happens when God moves to enforce His Covenant on behalf of those, whose hearts are straight before Him.

The system may not be fair or just to you; but God knows how to work it out to favor you. You however do have a role to play in this. Your faith walk and work is very crucial for this. You can’t be effective in playing your role with God on your side, if all you are doing is to whine and complain about everything.

It’s time to put your faith in the Covenant of God into action, with your heart stayed on it (Isaiah 26:3); and your mouth bringing things into fulfillment by speaking the words of the Covenant promises.

Faith does not work in the flesh; but in the spirit

Staying focused on your spiritual goals keeps you on track with the Covenant

There are many who are in Covenant with God, but who are not enjoying the benefits which belongs to them in the Covenant; just because they are not bold enough to ask God for them. For example they do have divine protection, healing and deliverance in their Covenant package from the coronavirus; but instead of going to the Father to make a demand for it, they will rather turn first to the arm of the flesh to help them. Faith will never work where the flesh is active.

Access into their Covenant benefits has become an afterthought in their lives. There are Christians today who had been placed on the death timeline list by the doctors. They had allowed the doctors to pronounce a death sentence on them, as they deliver their so called medical time frame to remain alive on the earth to them.

The doctor does not have the right or spiritual authority to determine how long you will live. You have that right and authority in your heart and on your lips (Romans 10:8-10). You have the power of your life and death on your lips, and not the doctors.

The Bible says:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Proverbs 18:21 NKJV

This is how you activate your Covenant benefits to begin working for you without toiling. The Covenant blessing itself will begin to do the toiling for you, as you are focused on declaring what it says (Proverbs 10:22).

This is how Covenants are enforced. Just because you have a Covenant with someone does not means, that you’re going to get the benefits from it automatically. The enemies of the Covenant do not want you to have those benefits. You will need to activate it and start enforcing its terms with spoken words, for the other parties in the Covenant to hear you. This is how you will begin to enjoy the benefits in it, as the other parties involved will begin to see to it that you are receiving what you are saying. Don’t get complacent about your Covenant benefits. The devil does not want you to succeed in life with it.

The Bible told us that Asa, the King of Judah was in this type of situation; as he turned to the King of Syria for help to fight against the Northern kingdom of Israel. He was complacent about his successes as the King. He forgot that those successes in his life came from God. God had delivered him in the past from the hands of his enemies. Whenever he had turned to the Lord, he had always been delivered.

But at this time when he had started experiencing the prosperity of the Lord, his heart had become pompous. He had forgotten about God who had prospered him. He then decided to turn to his wealth and riches for deliverance. He thought that they would deliver him from the new enemy. He gave them to the King of Syria to help him in fighting against Baasha, the King of Israel. He forgot about what God had done for him in the past (2 Chronicles 14 and 15).

There are a lot of Christians like this today. Some people had received salvation, healing and deliverance from the Lord. But they are no longer walking and living by faith before Him, to secure their miracles. They had become too comfortable with the successful life, that God has blessed them with.

And when the troubles of life knocks on their doorstep, they will turn to their successes and their connections in life to get them out. They will turn their back on the God who gave them those successes and the blessings. They will turn to the arm of their flesh to help them.

Hanani, the Prophet of the Lord was then sent to King Asa with these words in judgment of his behavior towards God. He told him:

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and from throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
‭‭II Chronicles‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is always strong on behalf of those, who are steadfastly putting their faith in the Covenant with Him. They are loyal to Him and not to the world around them. They are not looking up to the help of men, but they are trusting in God alone. They are the ones who will rather put what God’s word says first, in every decision making process before them.

They will rather look up to God first for the finances that they need to do a project, instead of consulting with the banks. They are the ones who will rather stand and trust on the word of God for their healing, instead of leaning to the report of the doctors or their diagnosis, and their treatment remedy alternatives. God is loyal to them, because they are loyal to Him.

They are the ones who are keeping the Name of Jesus protected in their Covenant walk with Him. They don’t just use His Name without a conscious realization of what goes with it. They are mindful of their Covenant benefits, as they are using the Name of Jesus in prayer.

And most importantly they do understand that everything that God does for us, He requires us to have a Covenant with Him, as the basis for doing them for us. Without a Covenant God has no basis for doing anything for you.

You reign on the earth with Jesus

Reigning with decrees with Jesus to establish God’s order of rule

But your faith in His Name however has the power to override this, even if you don’t have Covenant with God. This shows how important your faith walk is before God. We saw this well illustrated in the encounter of Jesus with the Syrophoenician woman, who had no Covenant with God; but she had faith in Jesus to deliver and heal her daughter.

The Bible says:

“And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭15:22-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The absence of a Covenant with God could not prevent the faith of this woman from receiving what she wanted. Jesus had to respond to her faith, because He knew that faith is what pleases God (Hebrews 11:6).

The Covenant would had put this woman on a stronger foundation and basis for approaching Jesus. Covenant with God refers to you as a partner with God, and not as a low rated “dog”. A Covenant will make you special before God. It gives you access into a special relationship with Him. But this woman’s faith could only get her the crumbs from the benefit of a child of God.

The woman was able to receive what she wanted, but she would now need to enter into a Covenant relationship with the God of Israel, to be able to keep what she had received in the Name of Jesus. And the good news is that the New Covenant with God is everlasting.

There are many who had received miracles from the Lord, but who are not able to keep them because their faith in the Covenant is not active. They do have the faith which does not speak what they believe in their heart. The faith that does not speak is as good as dead.

In the same manner the faith that is not steadfast in speaking the same thing, that is believed in the heart will eventually wane in strength until it dies. That’s why we had been called to reign as kings on the earth with Christ Jesus.

Normally a king reigns by decrees. When we are speaking in accordance with the promises of the Covenant before the Lord, then we are decreeing the things that we believe before God.

A decree is unchangeable. No force from hell or on the earth can change our decrees. And kings don’t have to go out so as to enforce their decrees. They have their representatives in place to enforce those decrees for them. In the same manner the angels are waiting on our decrees as the children of God, so that we can reign on earth with Christ Jesus. They are bond to enforce them on our behalf as we speak them out from our mouth.

It is by decrees that we do reign on the earth with Jesus, who is our King of kings. But our words must always match out with the words of Jesus. What you’re saying are the decrees that your angels will act on to enforce. When you decree healing, they manifest healing on your behalf. When you are decreeing increases, that’s what they will bring your way.

Your words must become firm and worthy like the words of a king, which can never be changed. You are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Speak like one. Act like one. Jesus – the King of kings lives in you. Begin now to speak and act like Him.

That was how Jesus did it on the earth, and you can do likewise also. He said:

“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.”

John 5:19 NKJV

The Prophet Micah once said in reaction to the disaster from the Babylonians, which had gripped Jerusalem. He was speaking to the remaining inhabitants of the city when he said:

“But why are you now screaming in terror? Have you no king to lead you? Have your wise people all died? Pain has gripped you like a woman in childbirth.”
‭‭Micah‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When there is no king to lead, then the enemy does has a free day of destruction. He will take over the situation in the life of the Christian, who is no more walking in his Covenant relationship with his God. When he is not decreeing firmly with spoken words, then he is not reigning. His enemies are in charge. This was the situation with the remnants of Judah when Micah prophesied.

And because they were not reigning by decreeing words of faith in their God, they were eventually taken into captivity to Babylon. This is what happens to the believers who are not walking in the reality of who they are in Christ Jesus today. The enemy will come and take over everything in their lives. He will begin by first lying to deceive them. Then he will use those lies to steal whatever blessing is in their lives, before totally destroying them (John 10:10).

When we are issuing decrees with words, we are strengthening our stand in the Covenant before our God. Not only that. Our faith in the Covenant becomes well established.

The angels will be positioned around you always, so as to carry out your next decree from your mouth. That’s what they do. And that’s what they are waiting on from your mouth.

Are you strengthening your Covenant daily before the Lord? What are you decreeing before the Lord? Are your words of decrees in unison with the words of the Book of your Covenant – the Bible? God will only act on what you are steadfast in saying. Open your mouth wide and let him satisfy you with good things (Psalms 103:5). You are blessed, healed, prosperous and abounding in all things.
