Famine or no famine a seed will always work in bringing in the harvest

Jesus said in the Parable of the sower that:

“The sower sows the word.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This means that God’s incorruptible word is the seed which brings us salvation, healing, deliverance and prosperity. When a Christian receives the word of God into his heart, just as a seed that is being sowed into the soil, something begins to happen. This is the moment when the word that is sowed, starts working to manifest what it is meant to achieve.

It’s the incorruptible seed of God’s word, that is being sowed in this manner, which gives us faith for everything we do need life (spirit, soul and body). The incorruptible seed of God’s word works in bringing us the harvest, just as it provides us also with the grains that we do eat (Isaiah 55:10).

Jesus said again:

“… It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:4‬ ‭NKJV‬

The bread or grains that a man eats is not enough to satisfy his needs. In other words material things can’t be substituted for the spiritual needs in men. A Christian needs God’s word as the spiritual food, which will cause him to grow up in Christ Jesus, so as to become whosoever God wants him to be. To live by bread or grains alone can not satisfy the spiritual thirst for God in men.

Neither can money ever be able to give men, what the word of God  can give in restitution for the soul of man. You may be the richest man on earth, but it can’t guarantee you a place in heaven with God. You must be born of the incorruptible word of a God.

Go for quality over quantity

Your ability to come out of famine depends on the quality of the word that you are speaking

That’s why it’s important for the sower to be paying particular attention, to the quality of God’s word (seed) that is being sowed into his field (heart). The quality of his seeds will eventually determine the quality of the harvest, that he will get from what is being sowed. By being committed to sowing, his righteousness begins to shine brighter and brighter. This is not because of the quantity of the word (seed) that is being sowed into his life; but due to the quality of the word.

The scriptures says:

“For every spiritual infant who lives on milk is not yet pierced by the revelation of righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, whose spiritual senses perceive heavenly matters. And they have been adequately trained by what they’ve experienced to emerge with understanding of the difference between what is truly excellent and what is evil and harmful.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The difference between a spiritual infant and a matured Christian, is in the quality of the seed (word) in their lives. The evidences of this in their lives is reflected in their righteous living. A skillful matured sower of seeds is trained and prepared in righteousness for his sowing activities. Righteousness is what guides him in sowing seeds.

His spiritual discernment about sowing is sharper than that of the “spiritual infant”; who often focuses more on the quantity of the word in his life. This is understandably so because of the spiritual thirst in his life. A spiritual infant will go after everything, that is out there and available for him to consume spiritually. But the matured sower goes after those things (words), that are essential for his prosperity (spirit, soul and body).

A matured sower pays particular attention to the details, because he realizes that the difference between his situation, and his next level with Christ are often hidden in the details. Such details are often ignored by the spiritual infant.

A righteous sower knows concerning himself that:

“The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears; I have not been rebellious, I have not turned away.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭50:4-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The tongue of the matured sower sows words, that penetrates deep into the center of the seed. That’s how he prays over his seed before sowing it. He is instructed and taught of the Holy Spirit, in recognizing the right soil for sowing. He never follows the advice or the ways of men in sowing, because he knows that every ways of men are wicked before God. Everything that the Holy Spirit tells you to do, will always look foolish and stupid to the world (1 Corinthians 2:14-15).

I was recently listening to some Wall Street investors, as they were highlighting this truth from their own point of observation, of the way Christians do invest in the stocks market today. To me as a Christian it was no news, but to them it is fascinating that a Christian will act, against their professional expertise, by investing into stocks which they have rated as junks. And then after a few years later, they have often seen such investments doing far better, than they had thought before.

In other words the Christian investor on the Wall Street stock exchange, who listens and is being guided by the Holy Spirit to sow or invest, is smarter than the so called experts in the business. Of course God is the One teaching him how to invest; but the so called experts do not understand this, and they are often amazed by the smartness or wisdom in the Christian investors. Of course this is what happens when the Holy Spirit is teaching you how to sow.

The Salvation of the seed

Work to save the seed from destruction during famine

The matured sower is smarter in his seed sowing activities, than the spiritual infant who is still struggling, to realign his soul and body in learning how to sow. The matured sower speaks words from his spirit man, before casting his seeds into the soil. The quality of such words is what impregnates the seed in its embryo, thereby causing it to either increase or decrease in the harvest. This is primarily based on the quality of the word that is spoken.

Jesus was referring to the quality of the seed (word) when He said:

“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words (seeds) I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.”

‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is why it’s very important for the sower of the seed, to constantly be in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. That’s how he is able to work constantly on the quality of the words, that he speaks over his seeds before sowing them.

He needs God’s word (seed) in the power of the Holy Spirit to stay victorious. And it not the amount of spoken words, that will give him the victory. It’s not the quantity, but it’s the quality of such words that matters. Don’t be a babbler. Let the quality of the words that you are speaking from the heart, over your seed be seasoned with grace by the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit leads the sower to sow a seed, that one seed has the potential, to do much more than several other seeds, which has no inspiration from the Holy Spirit in them. The Bible says concerning such a seed:

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”

Ephesians 3:20 TPT

Righteous living is therefore essential for improving the quality of seeds that the sower sows. An unrighteous man will always struggle to accept spiritual truth. A man may be morally good, but spiritually blind or short sighted. Being a good moral person does not make anyone a righteous sower. Good morals does not give us access into eternity in heaven.

The Bible says that a man must be born again to be saved (John 3:3-6). The salvation of any seed is dependent on the faith of the sower. Any seed that he sows by faith is guaranteed to be fruitful. Being saved is what positions you for the blessing of God, but prosperity is what you are able to achieve, through the sowing of seeds with the blessing. A good man may be blessed, but if he is not sowing seeds he can’t experience prosperity. Such a man will need to first be saved, and secondly begin to develop a relationship by fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit.

A seed without high quality words that’s being spoken from the heart by faith over it, is doomed for destruction. Any seed that is sowed without faith is unfruitful.

That’s how the seed attracts the favor of God for prosperity. If it worked for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; it will work for you and your seeds (descendants) after you. That’s why it’s important for those who do labor in God’s word, to be teaching their church members how to become righteous sowers.

That’s why you and your home must be saved (Joshua 24:15), for righteousness to guide you in sowing seeds with the help of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual salvation opens the floodgates of the blessing and prosperity into your home.

For:

“Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:7-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Your home will then become the land where the righteous seeds, are being sowed for the harvest of God. The spiritual rain is what the Holy Spirit brings upon such seeds.

Turn that financial famine into a dreamland

Sowing seeds especially during the famine or drought has the ability, to turn that experience into a dreamland; as you give yourself fully into following the seeds into the good soil, with the help of the Holy Spirit. If Isaac could do it (Genesis 26), why can’t you do it even better. You have a better covenant by the blood of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit lives in you.

Your seed does has a spiritual womb. When it’s sowed in the soil of your heart, your prosperity babies are immediately conceived. There is no financial situation in your life that such a seed can’t change into financial prosperity.

That means your faith must impregnate the soil of your heart, with the seed of God’s word as it’s being sowed. You therefore don’t need to be receiving God’s word, without putting your faith to work with it. Everything that you do by faith works. Sowing seeds by faith in the midst of the famine works, in bringing you into a prosperous dreamland.

Even in the midst of the famine you can always discern, a good soil to sow your seed into by the leading of the Holy Spirit. God will surely cause righteousness, justice, mercy and peace to reign in your heart, and around your investments or seed sowing activities, until you become so wealthy in every good works. This is how the Holy Spirit will make you a wonder to the world around you.

The Lord had said:

“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:3-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Prophet Isaiah described also the results of the seed sowing activities, of the righteous sower during the drought or famine in this way. He said:

“Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vines and for the land of my people, a land overgrown with thorns and briers— yes, mourn for all houses of merriment and for this city of revelry. The fortress will be abandoned, the noisy city deserted; citadel and watchtower will become a wasteland forever, the delight of donkeys, a pasture for flocks, till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert, his righteousness live in the fertile field. The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. Though hail flattens the forest and the city is leveled completely, how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream, and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭32:12-20 NIV

We need to pay particular attention here, to the description of the land of the sower before he sows in the midst of the famine. The Prophet Isaiah was describing the spiritual destitution in Jerusalem at the time when he spoke. Today however there are many children of God, who are living in the midst of spiritual and financial destitution. They are in the midst of a spiritual and financial famine, until the Holy Spirit moves to bring prosperity into their situations.

The famine that the Lord permits to come into the spiritual life of the righteous man, is never meant to destroy him or make him poor. This is normally the spiritual famine that will lead him, to thirst more or long more for the presence of God. This type of famine is meant to actually make him rich, to the extent that his life will become a testimony of God’s wonder, to the ungodly around him. It’s this type of hunger and thirst for God, that brings the miracle of abundance into the lives of those, who are persistent in chasing after God.

God will prosper you

God takes delight in your prosperity

From Genesis to Revelation the scriptures reveals to us various examples, of how righteous men did prospered in the midst of famines. And God is still doing the same thing today. He has never changed in the midst of your financial famine or drought. He will come out strong for you, if you will continue to do as the Prophet Isaiah said:

“.. how blessed you will be,
sowing your seed by every stream,
and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.”

Isaiah 32:20 NIV

The Holy Spirit will teach you and instruct you, about how to sow seeds in the midst of your financial famine into prosperity. That’s His work in your life. That’s why He is living inside of you. That’s why you need to learn how to fellowship with Him always, instead of running around like a mad man seeking the help of men. He lives in your life to guide you and lead you into the prosperity, which the Lord has already revealed to you. His job is to take you into God’s perfect will for your life.

Christians who do have a poverty stinking mentality do like to fantasize about prosperity. They will refuse to sow seeds, especially when they are being pressured with financial needs. They won’t sow because they are stingy, and they will only use their faith in seeking the help of men. They will run to mere men, instead of running after God.

Many of them are filled in the Holy Spirit, but they are not seeking to develop a vibrant fellowship in relationship with Him. They are living righteously for the Lord, but peace and justice is far from them, because their righteousness without the joy of the Holy Spirit, has made them unresponsive to the presence of God. So they often get angry and bitter, when they see other Christians prospering, instead of rejoicing with them. That’s what is being used by the devil to keep them poorer, while they are still living righteously.

The Prophet Isaiah said:

“The sinners in Zion are afraid; Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites: “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?” He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil: He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure. Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; They will see the land that is very far off.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭33:14-17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fear of the righteous man living in his prosperity will cripple the faith, of those who are living in poverty with a hypocritical mind set about prosperity. The prosperity of the Lord can’t get to them, because of their attitude towards prosperity with righteous living. They don’t believe that, it’s possible to be rich and also live righteously before God.

But as Isaiah said the righteous man will become rich with Bread and water. Bread here is a prophetic reference to Jesus – the Bread of life (John 6:35). Water here is also a reference to the presence of the Holy Spirit in his life – John 7:37-39. When a righteous man uses the Name of Jesus (the Bread of life), by the leading of the Holy Spirit (Water) to command his prosperity, the angels moves into action immediately on his behalf (Hebrews 1:14). His vision begins to become clearer and stronger in this way, as the Lord causes him to make progress into his future.

According to Isaiah 32:12-20 the first fruit that springs out of the seed sowing activities of the good sower, is righteousness and then justice or mercy. These are very important for him to be able to discern, how to continue to sow seeds in the midst of the abundance of prosperity, that is coming into his life during the financial famine around him.

Righteousness in Christ Jesus will cause you to have both internal and external peace (Shalom). When you are at peace within yourself, about how you are handling your seeds, it will cause you to be at peace with the world around your seed sowing activities. Your prosperity will continue to give you peace, in your home and everywhere you go.

And as the Prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 32:20, the greatest secret to your abundance of prosperity, is in your seed sowing activities even during the time of famine. This is because you do know that the Holy Spirit, will bring a downpour of rain, in making your seeds to become fruitful. That’s how you will increase and multiply in the midst of famine. Your prosperity will shine brighter and brighter, as you continue to get richer and richer:

“The Lord will open the storehouses of the skies where he keeps the rain, and he will send rain on your (financial famine) land at just the right times. He will make you successful in everything you do. You will have plenty of money to lend to other nations, but you won’t need to borrow any yourself.”

Deuteronomy 28:12 CEV
